  1. After a while, I started taking the practice from GMAT Plus questions. Thogh I have done 30 %, but today I was doing passage 41 and found all my answers were wrong as per the answer. I got  of myself, but when I checked GMAT Plus answer it totally made me sick:( . It seems the answers are all wrong and I can not be so wrong. Then I verified few passage and trend is same.... like 1. Passage where no of questions = 7, no of ansers given =5 and vice versa 2. Passage 40, questions which are straight forward have the answer completely wrong which even not mentioned in the passage. Does any one have the correct answers....It will skew the confidence..

    Princeton score

he_hels I had faced the same problem and asked the Princeton Customer Support, it's because of the version of the software comes with the CD even with new books. Here what u need to do as told by Princeton Customer Support, will definitely work: Go to the Princeton Menu Start > All Programs > The Princeton Review > GMAT Updater It will automatically update the software and u can readily see ur score as M 49 V 44 (760) for all already saved tests. which earlier u were not able to see. Also u can still upload the tests to Princeton, but it takes a long to get finally seen from website. Njoy !
  3. Given ans is correct. The possibility of drawing the cards are R = Red (diamond, heart), B = Black (spade, club) The draw can be one of the above. RR,RB, BR, BB = Total occurence Probablity of same color = (RR,BB) / (RR,RB, BR, BB) = 1/2 It's a good one
  4. Two Couples and one single person are seated at random in a row of five chairs. What is the probability that neither of the couples sits together in adjacent chairs ? A. 1/5 B. 1/4 C. 3/8 D. 2/5 E. 1/2
  5. Shaq, I was knowing from the beginning when I started seeing ur replies and contacted u first time, also was thinking Shaq was mute for sometime, so must be spearheading for the exam as u said gonna give in Nov end and u did it man hard . [dance] !!! Please advise me as I have booked for Dec 28 and having lot of headaches and work from Office. I have improved a lot in Verbal in all 3 sections but please enlighten us more about ur GMAT experience in detail. Thanks, Kaus.

    Help on PR scoring

Guys, I gave the first practice test in Princeton and I am little skeptic on the score. In Quant only 2,3 Qs were incorrect and rest all were correct. i.e. Incorrect/Correct = 2/35, but still the score is 46 (95%), is it correct. Does so much penalty despite all later 34 correct.
  9. qhoc0010, U r doing good, but u need to work more on SC. SC is like cash on GMAT, they save time and more accuracy. So from current 22/19 shoot for 35/6. I was very weak just like u with 50% in the beginning and now at worst it's 75% and good is close to 85-90%. Just work little hard. U will do it.

    Number of 800 scores

Oh yeah spiderman, I was in college break and watched that interview, remeber that guy in a T-shirt, a tennis racket hanging behind the wall. Such a genious guy but do not remember the sneaky fresher (spidey) :hmm: :D , will see soon him in top univs..... btw is 51 is the maxm score in each section or 60 ??? :hmm: .
  11. Hi NaOCH3 (SodiumMethanol), Could u also state how was the verbal (RC) and Quant (DS) section compared to [tooltip=Official Guide]OG[/tooltip]. Interms of complexity and density. One thing I like about this forum is people are having really unique and crazy usernames which is making this forum more interesting. I found ur posts really practical and educating and glad u pulled it over despite the initial trouble. Wish u all the best for ur application process.
  12. I guess it's D. Choices using "and" are wordy (B,C out) E - suggests Larry told the pun to go away, change of meaning Now from A and E A - I groaned at his pun and told him to go away D - I told him to go away after I groaned at his pun D - is more appropriate as here the stress is on what I did (mostly to Larry) after Larry told me A- When Larry told me , I told him ... D - When Larry told me , I groaned at his pun and told him ... So which one makes more sense....I guess D. What the OA ? Just an honest advice, please avoid preparing from non-standard book like "GMAT For Dummies"
  13. Yes started making more sense after I spent more time. My main doubt there was no single promising factor of selecting. [has/did] I think has is prefered to did in current context is because of use of "since Galileo suffered" so indicating something still continuing, but in most GMAT sentences simple past is prefered when there is no other prior event. another factor could be [major scientist to pursue / major scientist that he could pursue] prior one is more terse and correct. Thanks qhoc0010.
  14. 3. Not since Galileo suffered the “scurvy humor” of the Inquisition has a religious organization so effectively curbed the ability of a major scientist that he could pursue a theory. (A) has a religious organization so effectively curbed the ability of a major scientist that he could pursue (B) did a religious organization so effectively curb the ability of a major scientist that he could pursue © has a religious organization so effectively curbed the ability of a major scientist to pursue (D) did a religious organization so effectively curb the ability of a major scientist to pursue (E) has a religious organization so effectively curbed whether a major scientist had the ability that he could be pursuing Can any one explain ? Ans:
  15. My pick is A, I can't agree more to Crash's explanation. D changes the meaning. D. especially unintelligble the suffering that is inflicted on the innocent how can suffering be unintelligble ??? A. especially unintelligible the infliction of suffering on the innocent Yes, it's correct to say the whole idea of "the infliction of suffering on the innocent" is unintelligble. So I will go with A
  16. CBS If ur active, can u post the OAs ???
  17. Can anyone send me an excel template with Timer function, I tried reinventing is excel but not getting it right..... Please some send.
  18. gmatguy, ur right.....I cracked lot of difficult permutation/combination. But this question at first could not digest Here is the OA: 1. The best answer is C. The worst case is that we take out seven balls of each color and still do not have 8 of the same color. The next ball we take out will become the eighth ball of some color and our mission is accomplished. Since we have 4 different colors: 4*7(of each) +1=29 balls total. Of course you could take out 8 of the same color immediately, however we need to make sure it happens, and we need to consider the worst-case scenario. But The second answer doesn't seem right ...... but the OA as below which I think weird...... 2. The best answer is B. On four levels there are 4 scenarios = 16 different games. The first level has 3 different scenarios. The total is 19 scenarios. Can anyone explain why should not be B
  19. 2. In a jar there are 15 white balls, 25 red balls, 10 blue balls and 20 green balls. How many balls must be taken out in order to make sure we took out 8 of the same color? a) 8 b) 23 c) 29 d) 32 e) 53 1. A computer game has five difficulty levels. In each level you can choose among four different scenarios except for the first level, where you can choose among three scenarios only. How many different games are possible? a) 18 b) 19 c) 20 d) 21 e) None of the above
  20. Nalini, Ur a true inspiration... I am zapped with ur awesome score and that to in just 4 weeks.... man u rock [dance] .[clap] Could u elaborate little more on Verbal and time management especially in RC and CRs any how u tackled the time pressure. Wish u all the best for ur Admission process.
  21. I differ, it's the first. dilapidate = weakening, decaying etc.... People weaken with age so "with age" is idiomatic rather than "due to age". second sentence would have been idiomatic if it were.. due to ageing or negligence Also check Erins explanation of due to / because of This basically tests the use of due to vs because of because of is used as an adverb - The event was postponed because of rain due to is used as an adjective - The event's postponement was due to rain Shaq ur thoughts ?
  22. Will pick B, C,D are nonsensical, treating like quantity But A,B and E all are grammatically correct, but it's more idiomatic to say The greater part (most part etc..) rather than saying majority also majority is used used mostly in plural and group context ... majority of the discussions... majority of the people... etc.. majority of the talk(singular) seems awkward.
  23. boksana, I striked out due to missing "are", but could be an elipsis. B,C are simple to eliminate, they are just awkward and do not fit in context. The actula sentence .... fanaticism can rarely be controlled, In this context, E - even though, doesn't fit and use of "there are " - not idiomatic in GMAT D - Frankly "however" is the best fit but I ignoreed as it would have been more appropriate if the sentence was " fanaticism can rarely be controlled, however ruthless the countermeasures are. Since are(optional, elipsis) was missing, I chose the next best answer D. But from ur Ans A seems the best.
