  1. Hi, nice essay. Just a few suggestions: Which 'short period of time' are you referring to in this sentence? "So, no institution should come to a conclusion that a particular student is not adept at, just by looking their performance for a short period of time." Use paragraphs to separate ideas. Also, maybe explain/clarify how this example is relevant: "Bill Gates, dropping out of Harvard, started a business and is listed amongst the richest men in the world." You should state how this connects to your thesis. As it is, it's not connected to your argument. Check your grammar towards the end of your essay, especially the plurals. Good luck!
  2. Hi there, Your essay would benefit from being separated into paragraphs.
  3. Hey-these are my bullet points for the Argument task. I didn't have time to write the essay today. Your thoughts/suggestions would be appreciated! The following appeared in an article in the Grandview Beacon. "For many years the city of Grandview has provided annual funding for the Grandview Symphony. Last year, however, private contributions to the symphony increased by 200 percent and attendance at the symphony's concerts-in-the-park series doubled. The symphony has also announced an increase in ticket prices for next year. Given such developments, some city commissioners argue that the symphony can now be fully self-supporting, and they recommend that funding for the symphony be eliminated from next year's budget." Write a response in which you discuss what questions would need to be answered in order to decide whether the recommendation and the argument on which it is based are reasonable. Be sure to explain how the answers to these questions would help to evaluate the recommendation. Main points: contributions could have been from one donor and may not happen again may not receive the same amount to donations next year how much is actually needed to be “self-supporting”? they may not have enough to be self supporting, even with the 200% increase in donations we don’t know what led to the increased attendance of concerts could have been a discounted ticket price or increased advertisement increased ticket prices for the next year could dissuade attendees from purchasing tickets and would decrease the profit of Symphony
  4. I'm assuming that the numbers refer to the order of the topics on the list so you would just have to count them. The first topic would be 1 and the fifth topic would be 5.
  5. Hi, I think in your first paragraph, last sentence, you should complete the sentence by adding something like: "...which could be why they are not being checked out from the library." I think it would really bring home your point that people already have these books, so they aren't borrowing them. I disagree that the author is presenting a dichotomy between culture and low entertainment. It sounds like a stretch to assume this because the the prompt is pretty matter of fact. I think you have a nice essay, though!
  6. I think your essay is well written! I think your examples are lucid, grammar is tight-nice!
  7. Hi, nice essay! In the third paragraph, I would use the word possibly instead of probably. Also, maybe expand the third paragraph so the ideas flow and are connected. Check the grammar as well. Some words have an 's' at the end, but shouldn't be plural and vice versa.
  8. I am using Magoosh.com for the second time, after not getting into grad school, and trying to improve my score. I love it- it raised my score the first time. Also, the math questions are actually more difficult than the actual test, so some of the questions on the test will feel easy. Also, they even have free ebooks you can download. Good luck!
  9. HI-Your essay sounds good. I think you could improve it by rewriting the second paragraph/point to be more clear. I had to read it a few times to understand what you were saying. Maybe extend that explanation more. I think you provide good insight into this prompt. I personally don't agree with your assertion that if numerous baskets were found in Lithos, then we know they also made them...what if there were numerous baskets in Lithos, but were made out of a material not found in Lithos. Then you could not claim that they also made them. Unless they procured the materials from another location. I just think its dangerous assertion.
  10. Last year, my power prep score was almost identical. Sorry! My official score was Verbal: 157, Quant: 145 and my power prep scores were only off by 1-2 points.
  11. I think if you add more details, as I previously suggested, it will end up being longer and each example will be more in depth, instead of being superficial. Good luck!
