  1. Today I wrote GMAT for the second time and I nailed the beast! 780 (99%) V46 (99%) Q51 (99%) [clap]:tup::D:)[banana][bounce] Thanks to all of you in this great forum. Special thanks goes to Erin and 800Bob - this score would not be possible without their posts. I am too excited to write a coherent debrief; I will post a detailed one in a couple of days. I am off to space out for the rest of the day!
  2. I will tackle this question in another way. I am assuming x and y are non negative integers. If y>x, y! / x! will be always an integer. If x>y, not so. So the question is asking which one is bigger integer - x or y. Statement 1 answers that. Statement 2 does not. Answer is A. This works only when x and y are non negative integers.
  3. Indian/Civil Engineer/Male - career changer Age: 28 Undergrad: Civil/IIT Kharagpur (GPA 3.1/4) Grad: MS in Civil Engineering at University of Nebraska GMAT: 730 (89%Q, 88%V) AWA 4.0 (28%) Work Ex: 3 yr in a mid-size midwestern civil engineering firm in Nebraska (Firm has 650+ people over 15 branches all over midwest and south). non-supervisory role but lots of client interactions and public meetings. Extra C - some charity/some community involvement/Nothing beyond average Where do I stand in regard to top 15 b-school? Stern/Chicago/Ross/Darden? Does my having a MS degree or low AWA hurt my chances? Do I need to retake GMAT to fix the AWA? I am positive to get a 750+ in a GMAT retake with better AWA, first one was a rush job. Thanks in advance.
  4. I will go for D, whats the OA?
  5. I will go for C. Causal relationship was not shown.
  6. I am thinking B over A. It can not be C/D/E.
  7. E. In a logic question, eliminate any option if you see "probably".
  8. Definitely D. The support was that 1) same painting subject 2) same style. D robs both.
  9. I will go for A. My reasoning is: in C, workers are not working, still getting free grains - so what harm?
  10. Great writing, however I am not sure bullet points (1,2,3..) in AWA. I might be wrong.
  11. Sorry to ruin the party. X and Y are integers, so minimum value of y is zero when x is also zero. Prove me wrong.
  12. (14, -5). x intercept 7, y intercept 5 => (x/7) + (y/5) =1 Only (14,-5) fits the equation.
  13. If you read the stem, x is -ve. Assume x = -p, where p is positive. qrt(-x*|x|) = sqrt(p^2) = p = -x
  14. Thanks MTG. I was at a loss.
  15. Thats the longer way. The given term is actually (x^2-y^2)/(x-y), making the answer (x + y) A.
  16. Flip it and then change the sign of the power. BTW, ans is 4.
