  1. No, surprisingly. But no rejection either (and I know they've been doing rejections).
  2. Institution Name: University of Chicago Concentration: Marketing Date of Notification: March 10 Type of Notification: Email Notification: Rejected Posted on GradCafe?: No Comments: Only NYU left to hear back from. Great program, but don't think I would've fit well anyways.
  3. I remember one of the arguments for fees being that they're a barrier to entry and discourage anyone from applying who isn't serious about attending. I can understand this, but there's got to be an easier way to go about filtering applicants than that. Also, for what it's worth, application fees alone for me (not counting GRE score sending) came to $1,435 for 14 schools. ~100/school (USD) is the norm nowadays (SHOUT OUT TO UFLORIDA FOR THE $35 APPLICATION FEE!).
  4. They do not expect you to accept their offer, although they hope so. They expect that you have other offers and are trying to recruit you. And if you feel guilty...well then they've done their job because then you're more likely to go :P Having said that, if there's literally no chance you'd accept their offer, don't go (that's just my opinion though, some might say you should have an open mind for every school no matter what). If there's a small chance, you absolutely should go guilt-free.
  5. So, I figured I'd dump a bunch of notifications and stuff here. Don't remember any of the dates, so just posting the basics. Some aren't here (b/c schools have asked me to keep it private), so PM me if curious :) Sorry for any duplicates from earlier posts none of these are on gradcafe fyi (laziness) Institution Name: UCLA Concentration: Marketing Type of Notification: Email Notification: Phone Interview Comments: Withdrew considering I don't see myself choosing them over my other offers. Institution Name: Northwestern Concentration: Marketing Type of Notification: Email Notification: Rejection Comments: Eh, from what I heard I wouldn't fit into their style of program anyways. I need a bit more hand-holding than I hear they provide. Institution Name: UPenn Concentration: Marketing Type of Notification: Email Notification: Rejection Comments: Thought I had a chance to get off the waitlist and get an offer. Guess not. They were my #1 at the start of the process, so this one stings. Institution Name: Duke Concentration: Marketing Type of Notification: Email Notification: Rejection Comments: Not surprising for some reason. Institution Name: UCSD Concentration: Management Type of Notification: Email Notification: Acceptance Comments: Out of the blue. Definitely considering them. Risky choice-high risk with the newness of the program, but high reward with the faculty they've got. Institution Name: Columbia Concentration: Marketing Type of Notification: Email Notification: Campus Interview Comments: Visited with arcenciel on Friday. If I don't get an offer, it's ok-he deserves it more :) Institution Name: Yale Concentration: Marketing Type of Notification: Email/Phone Call Notification: Acceptance Comments: Kind of surprised. Some really top-notch applicants at the campus interview with more experience. Still surprised, even weeks later. Institution Name: Florida Concentration: Marketing Type of Notification: Email Notification: Acceptance Comments: Visited there. Weak outside of the marketing department, but the department itself is top-20. Badly underrated program. Institution Name: Toronto Concentration: Marketing Type of Notification: Email Notification: Acceptance Comments: Interviewed first. Really solid program, lots of young blood with a lot of potential. Unique and innovative. Close to home (good and bad). Institution Name: WUSTL Concentration: Marketing Type of Notification: Email Notification: Skype, Campus Interview Comments: Couldn't make the campus interview. Really like the group there, and love St. Louis, but reservations similar to UCSD. Institution Name: Carnegie Mellon Concentration: SDS Type of Notification: Email Notification: Campus Invite Comments: Visited. Really interesting program and group of people. Waiting on inevitable Chicago and NYU rejections (since I haven't heard back yet).
  6. I'm the same, but with emails. Feels like every day now I'm getting some kind of update. Narrowed down to a few schools now though.
  7. I'm in the same boat without an invite, pretty much given up on them :(
  8. Rejections from Duke and Northwestern for me as well.
  9. Anyone started accepting offers yet? I'm really curious to see what schools will dominate this year's class of Urch applicants :P
  10. Well, only 3 more schools left for me to hear from, although they're all probably rejections. Anyone know of any schools that are doing multiple rounds of interviews this year?
  11. I think pretty much every important school has sent out interviews now, and I think the majority have already been giving out acceptances.
  12. UCLA CB (if they consider me CB) sent me an interview request earlier today. Can double check with a friend of mine, but he's gotten either an official or unofficial offer from them (CB)
  13. Well...I thought so originally too, but I guess we're both wrong-some schools have listed me as CB, some as Quant. Michigan actually has me down as quant.
  14. Thanks! In case people haven't seen it, here's the list in question: Have moved: -Arizona -Arizona State -Boston U -UC Boulder -Chicago -Columbia -Connecticut -Cornell -Duke -ESSEC Paris -Florida -Florida State -Grenoble -Harvard -HEC Paris -HKUST -Houston -Illinois -Indiana -INSEAD -Kentucky -London Business School -Massachusetts Amherst -Maryland -Memphis -Miami -Michigan -Michigan State -Minnesota -Missouri -MIT -North Carolina -Northwestern -NYU -Ohio State -Oregon -Penn -Penn State -Pitt -Rice -Rochester -South Carolina -Southern California -Stanford -Texas A&M -Toronto -UT Austin -Virginia Tech -Western -Wilfred Laurier -Wisconsin -WUSTL -Yale Notable schools that haven't moved: -Alberta -UC Berkeley -Bocconi -U British Columbia -Cambridge -Carnegie Mellon -UC Davis -Emory -Erasmus -Georgetown -Georgia -Georgia State -Georgia Tech -Iowa -UC Irvine -UC Los Angeles -McGill -Purdue -UC San Diego -Temple -Tilburg -Utah -Warwick -Washington -York EDIT: "Notable" in this case is just other schools that are top 100 or so in rankings, so some medium-sized names might be missing.
  15. Friend of mine just got an invite for a phone interview from USC (CB though, not quant).
  16. fyi for the people who asked, I'm not posting my acceptances until I get the official papers Also, I'm still updating the list of moved schools on pg 9, I can copy-paste it here or to the first post in the thread if people want. And has anyone heard back from Duke/UCSD/UCLA? Or can confirm Chicago or NYU giving out interviews?
  17. With a pen, probably bring some sort of notebook? Maybe some gloves and a hat? A map of new york or some other way of finding your way around?
  18. Oh man, that would just be ridiculous. NYU, Northwestern, and Chicago haven't gotten in touch even though they've moved, but honestly this just feels crazy. Going into it I thought I'd get 8-9 rejections without interviews, ~5 interviews, and 1-2 acceptances. This has been beyond what I thought could happen.
