Correct me if I am wrong, a good program is one where professors mentor students, school provide good research support, guide has great reputation and make calls during your academic placements. Placement is a proxy for the quality of the program, however, it is a noisy proxy. Rochester has JAE and hence you become the part of the club. I have heard that Rochester placements are average, while Yale placements are great. The three schools Haas, Duke, and NYU have above average placement record. However, not joining Rochester means you are not part of the club. May be this thread can be used to provide accounting PhD applicants an overview of different accounting PhD programs. Thanks in advance for your response.

Someone posted on gradcafe that he got a flyout from Haas. Can someone confirm?

Not sure why there is so less activity for accounting. Seems Stern, Haas, and Fuqua have started calling applicants. Anyone here who got the calls or any acceptance from any of the schools? Thanks.

I tried to find the name of the PhD coordinator for the accounting program at UNC. However, could not find the name. Can someone please llook it up for me, or let me know how to find it? Gave multiple google searches. Thanks.

I submitted my application for UNC long ago. However, I recently found out my application to be incomplete. I sent an email to Business PhD Program Manager and she found out that my GMAT was not matched. UNC matched GMAT with my application and now the portal shows that my application is complete. Given that gradcafe shows that few interview offers have already been made, and my application doesn't show that it is under review, should I automatically assume that UNC is not going to consider my application any more? Is there anything I can do to ensure that my application at least gets seen by the admissions committee? I sent an email to the Business PhD Program Manager. However, she didn't reply me back :sorrow::grief:. Should I send an email to the accounting department? Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks.

I see offers from Toronto and UNC on Gradcafe. Anyone here who got an offers from those two schools?

Got a rejection email from Seattle. Surprised and devastated. :sorrow::dejected: I was very much interested in their program. I think probably I should have said that explicitly. Not sure how I could have shown more interest. They asked me which professor I would like to work with. I answered that I did go through the profile of their professors and find a research fit with the department. However, I wouldn't like to take specific names. This made them visibly disappointed. Not sure if I should have said the name of few professors. Any suggestions would be great. Can I send an email to the department regarding helping me to understand why I was rejected? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Rotman had sent me an email some 20 days ago regarding housing. they said that one should applying for housing, even though one might not get admissions!

someone posted acceptance from Rotman Toronto. Thought Rotman sends messages way later.

Does anyone know if UNC has made any calls? My profile was incomplete and I sent gradadmissions an email. Found out that they didn't match GMAT score with my profile. It has been fixed, and in few days it should reflect in my application profile.

Hi Shafi, Looking at Gradcafe, I see only one MIT interview call registered. Nothing for me from HBS, Booth, or Rotman. Have you heard from any schools yet?
