  1. Institution: Tinbergen Institute Program: Mphil Economics Decision:Accepted Funding: Tuition waiver + Full scholarship (1060euro per month) Notification date: 03-14-2016 Notified through: Email Comments:Unbelievable!!
  2. I was told it will take 2-3 weeks to hear from them, but I saw on gradcafe some people already got accepted.
  3. I'm like on the other side of the earth, and they still had me interviewed :)
  4. Nothing so serious. My interviewer asked why I applied, and then a bunch of questions about other programs I applied to.
  5. Kosker, you were right. I just got an email with an invitation for interview. But now I am worried about the interview... :upset:
  6. Thanks for your reply. My impression is that not everyone is invited for interview, and their website says an interview "may" be involved. I just don't know what it meas to be invited for interview, or not invited.
  7. I saw on the gradcafe some people got invited for inteverview. Has anyone heard from them? I haven't heard anything and I don't know if it is good news or bad news.
  8. Just getting decent grades is really enough to get addmitted? I asked a few questions to BGSE about it and was told there are limited places (about 18). Or does that mean there are just a few students who want to do phd in UPF?
  9. I got an admission from BGSE with a half tuition waiver. I did MSc in development economics in the UK, and absolutely don't have any formal math background except math for econ and a bunch of econometrics courses both in undergraduate and graduate (all A+).
  10. Did anyone get accepted after being on the waitlist? Seems like those who applied in the first round and were put on the waitlist tend to be rejected in the second round, too...
  11. Institution: Barcelona GSE Program: Economics Master Decision: Accepted Funding: Partial tuition waiver (half) Notification date: 2 Feb Notified through: Email Comments: Happy.
  12. Hi, I'm currently doing a MSc Development Economics course joinly run by economics department and the devleopment studies institution in UK. I'll have done 8 modules at the end of the course, 5 of which are from the economics department and the other 3 from development studies. My grades have been good, about 77% in the first term. In my undergrad, I did double major in English Linguistics and Economics and got A's from all the econoimcs courses. I have no decent work and research experience. I just would like to know if there is any chance to be accpeted for Mhil(MRes)/PhD in economics(2016 entrance) and get adivce for this. I'm looking at courses in Europe, pariculary Bonn, Mannnheim, LSE, UCL, so on. My first concern is about my master degree, which is only economics-related, although more than half of the course is taught by the economics department. The second concern is my weak math background. I'm quite confident in math but I didn't take any decent math courses, which were not avaliabe both in my undergrad and master courses. I only self learned linear algebra. If I get a good score in GRE, will that be enough evidence for my math ability? If I'm accepted conditioning on successfully doing a MSc economics course for these reasons, I'm more than happy to do so. I would appreciate any comments and advice.
