  1. Requesting to please grade my essay from 1- 6 and provide effective suggestions. Thanks all in advance. TOPIC: “A nation should require all of its students to study the same national curriculum until they enter college.” ----------------------------RESPONSE------------------------------------------------ A building which under construction requires a strong foundation to sustain itself. Similarly, the pre-college education institutions have the responsibility of brightening the student’s future and also building a strong foundation for them. The curriculum on which the foundation is to be built varies from f nation to nation, state to state and also within the state as per different educational boards. Having the same curriculum for all students until they enter college will affect the students to a great extent. Each and every region of a nation has a different history(how it is built, the political powers influencing the growth of the region, etc) In India, the Students of one state study about the Mughal emperors, while of the other, study about the great warrior Shivaji or the great politician Chanakya of the historical times. This helps the student in knowing the history of the region in which he/she lives and he will be able to relate to it well. If all the states are bound to study about Mughal emperors, which was prevalent in Northern and Western India, he southern India students, would find it irrelevant and not suiting their culture/regions where they live. The climate conditions, flora and fauna, the nation heritages of each state differ. If this is standardized, it might have below two effects on the student. 1. If the curriculum specifies the geography of only one of the states, then the students outside that state would find it irrelevant to study it. This will affect their grades as they would find it difficult to study due to lack of interest. As it is rightly said, one should avoid rote- learning, rather understanding the subject and studying it will help in achieving better grades. 2. If the curriculum specifies overall climatic conditions of the entire nation, without going in the details, the students will not have in-depth knowledge about a particular region. This makes them master of all, Jack of none. A student of Canada must be well- versed about the extreme winter conditions over there. If he/she doesn’t have in-depth knowledge about the Do's and Don’ts in such conditions, it will affect him to a great extent. The same national curriculum can be advantageous for the institutes since it will generalize the grading systems across the nation. Also the admission process will be streamlined and the students will have similar point of view and opinions in dealing with different situations in college. For students, it would become easy to share their ideas, notes or other study material via the social media which is growing at an accelerated pace. Also when a student has to study in a different state, it would be a piece of cake for him/her to cope up as the curriculum is the same. The concept of same national curriculum is bound to limit the scope of thinking for the students. It will not help in generation new ideas, research etc as compared to the diversified approach. The generalization of the curriculum though advantageous in few ways, will not help in diversity. The diversification is necessary, as variety is the spice of life.
