  1. Do you get an offer from U of Washington-Seattle?
  2. means we may be still on the waiting list?
  3. Hi. Does anyone hear news for PhD program to the above two universities? One of my friend has been rejected from Washington Seattle but I have not had any news from that department! The same for Texas AM.
  4. Hi.Is anyone still on the waiting list like me? I have written an e-mail to the director Prof. Andreas Pick but no reply yet.
  5. I also checked the current students page and it is true that the enrollment students do not exceed 14 every year. Do they admit 80 students 2 years ago? My interests are econometrics. Although Tinbergen does better, Bocconi do have some good econometricians, for instance, Carlo Favero, M. Marcellino which attracts me most.[h=1][/h]
  6. Thank you for your message. I have written the e-mail to prof. Pavoni and he told me for the fellowship in the second year the grades shall be at least above the average of the cohort. Does it mean we can apply for the ISU scholarship in the first year? By the way, do you plan to go to Bocconi for PhD studies? I am still on the waiting list at the MPhil program in Tinbergen Institute and I do not know when the final results will come out.
  7. I am enrolled to PhD in Economics and Finance at Bocconi University with payment of registration fee with ranking 43. Does anyone know the chance if I can get fellowship finally? What about the scholarship in the second year?
  8. You mean I do not need to apply for any master program related to statistics? I plan to try EME in LSE and also the Big 4 in Canada.
  9. Type of Undergrad: A Normal University in China, major in Management Type of Grad: MS in Quantitative Economics (currently enrolled), Top 10 in China IELTS: Overall 7 with Listening 7.5, Reading 7, Writing 6.5, Speaking 6 GRE: V148 Q166 AWA 3 Math Courses: Undergraduate Calc I,II (A+,A), Linear Algebra (A+),Probability and Mathematical Statistics(A+) , Statistics (A+) Graduate Mathematical Statistics(A+), Stochastic Process(A-), Matrix Theory(A-), Time Series Analysis(A), Stochastic Calculus (A-) Econ Courses: Undergraduate Micro(A+), Macro(B+),Metrics(A+) Graduate(Advanced Level) Micro(A-), Macro(B+), Metrics(A-) Summer School( Advanced Level) Metrics(A+), Mathematical Economics(A-) Letters of Recommendation: Not strong. Both the Professor in my department and math department Research Experience: One Research Project, Two Published Paper one empirical one econometrics theory, but both in Chinese version Teaching Experience: Two Semesters' Tutor in Time Series Analysis (Undergraduate Level) Research Interests: Econometrics Theory and method, but still very undecided in details, micro or time series? I did some work about Spatial Econometrics but I still find I may do better in time series . Concerns: 1. My background is very different among ones who prefer econometrics since I did undergraduate in management, not too much maths required. 2. I plan to do my Ph.D. in economics in Top 30, but up till now it seems not applicable. So I wonder if I can try some Top 40-50 Universities, for instance, Indiana? 3. Can I try some top m.a program instead? MSEM in Duke and MSME in LSE are my dream school. But I wonder if I have the chance to get enrolled. 4. My career goal is to get a tenured track assistant professor in economics. Any advice is welcomed, Thanks!
