  1. Any idea what ratio of applicants are interviewed to final acceptances?
  2. I applied to a different program through the Rackam Graduate School and they required hardcopy official transcripts mailed to them. Maybe it just means that they don't have official transcripts? Although, not sure that the business school requires them. Send them and email and ask.
  3. They could definitely sponsor you on a J1. The only requirement for the J1 is a bachelors degree and that you are doing "research" type work. Universities have a lot of discretion on how they can sponsor you. The real difficulty you will face is not technical Visa problems but rather persuading a potential supervisor that they should hire you instead of a domestic applicant who does not require the added hassle of a Visa sponsorship.
  4. Pretty much all major US universities can and do hire international employees. It is very easy for US universities to sponsor a visa for temporary research based work such as an RA position.
  5. Even if they talk about it, its not like the second place you accepted will rescind the offer. Do you really think professors are going to waste their time trying to track down a student who changed their mind about and offer and then figure out who to complain to? Any by the time you graduate 5 - 6 years down the line, no one is going to remember it. Also, if the second offer strictly dominated the first most people would understand why you did what you did.
  6. Just accept it. There is little way of a Europen school holding you accountable if you later change your mind.
  7. Thanks all. I need to use the search function more often. @Kaysa, are you on an admissions committee?
  8. How much will a couple of co-authorships in good field journals compensate for other shortcomings?
  9. What are acceptable GRE scores. I have V-169, Q - 162, and A - 5.5. Will I get desk rejected because of the quant score?
