  1. Ans is A. By talking abt "earlier days....", Author is trying to make background for his arguement that Bulk emails ..is new phenomenon and its solution must be found. The second underline part clearly states the conclusion o f the arguement. "So...." PKH...Please tell us OA
  2. Actually it is th e PER BARREL PRICE that defines threshold for economic viability
  3. Answer is surely D and NOT C. The reason is that In order to prove the arguement ---> Trade exist between greece and scily 2700 yrs ago, An assumption has to be made that Vase ( Already proved in the stmt bove that it is manufactured in Greece) was actually placed in the tomb 2700 yrs ago and not later than that by th e descendents. C has no meanings...why ships full of stuuff are reqd...anyone who has visited greece only once can also bring the pot as gift...How can we assume that trade exist between scily and lilly by that and that too by Ships???
  4. Well, I dont agree on this explanation because there is nowhere mentioned that drop in Oil price is "SUDDEN". It says it is dramatic and can be considered from the long term perspective. More over "DRAMATIC" drop in oil prices will definetly help more than "increased efficiency" (No such adjective like 'DRAMATIC' is used in option 3 to describe this increase) of oil based power plants to maintain th e threshold of economic viability. Any more explanations pls???
  5. c is my choice because the nationwide uniformity would be lost if text books are customised by the individual professors .
  6. b is the assumption on which the above mentioned statement is made. rest are out of scope... any more explanations ////
  7. welll, I dont believe, C strenthen the arguement because politically powerful persond can benifit and hurt the same person at different times depending whether Technical ingenuity is used or inventiveness is used
  8. Ans is D...In the sstatements above one of the two genetically identical twins develop schizophrenia. Hence D can never be true. For rest of the choices , No concrete evidence is provided to FALSIFY them.
  9. Ans is E because New improvements in Microwave will only prvrnt heating of thin metal objects like hair pins and not thick metal brass buttons that clothes are usually mae up of. Hence it will not be readily marketable.
  10. B,C and E are out of scope and A is the Conclusion drawn on th eassumption as stated in D
  11. Hi Can anyone pls explain me the explanation for [tooltip=Official Guide]OG[/tooltip] 10th edition question no: 153 Technological improvementis and reduced equipment costs have made converting solar energy drectly into elecrricity far more cost effecient in the last decade. However the threshold of economic viability for solar power (that is, th eprice per barrel to which oil would have to rise in order for new solar power plants to b emore economical than new oil fired poer plants) is unchanged at thirty five dollars. which of the following i ftrue does most to help explain why th eincreased cost efficiency of solar power has not decreased its threshold of economic viability. A) the cost of oil has fallen dramitically C) Technological changes have increased the efficiency of oil based power plants. As per me, ans is A But [tooltip=Official Guide]OG[/tooltip] says C I am saying A becoz..If oil prices are reduced dramatically, then Using enery from oil based power plant will be more economical and hence will offset the gains made by economic viability of solar power based plants even after techonological innovations and reduced equipment costs making solar poewer more cost efficient. Can anyone explain why C is better than A...I mean How C better explains that economic viability is unchanged at $35.
  12. Hi Erin Today is my second day in thi s forum....and I am really amazed`by the value additon to me. Ur explanation above is really helpful... Thanks
  13. also, in ist choice, "It " refers to the subject zones which is incorre`t
  14. Hi ..I got 4 right out o f nine....But still need to understand the specifi differeween.......premise/evidence/background. PKH...where are you posting th eexplanations for all the questions...this thread or a new one??
  15. My choice is A,E,D For 2nd question....B is correct only i ftehy include "that" in it. else E seems to be the closest. What do U say??

  17. Can anyone explain...why it is C and C
  18. My ans are `D and E Please tell us the correct ans..
  19. Answers are D and E For 1 st question...."is" and "enables" is imp as it is referring to ultra thin layer of construction which is singular For 2nd qUSSTION----E maintains paralleism.
  20. A is correct...Please look into Papakahetyhai `s posts "5 real SC" U will find more explanation over there.. "Damage to" is idiomatic
  21. I would go with B. only A and B maintains parallism and A incorrectly suggest that households have affected business that sells vaccum cleaners...
  22. Hey ... I am OK with 1-e 3-A 4-B But For o vQuestion 2--C seems to be a weird choice. Can anyone please explain...Why is it "C" and not B???
  23. I think answer is A and B. In the second question, A is incorrect becos..."like these" is not correct. ln the earlier part of the sentence...Only one offer is referred.
