  1. Thank you Corey. I got the point. To me it's still confusing that the question says "A is 10km west to C" which is not true. the diagonal AC states the distance rather than the flat line DC. But well, thanks for the clarity !
  2. Thank you YaSvoden. I still don't see why you say A is 10km west to C, it is NorthWest, right? therefore, I don't see where the calculation of 3km west to B comes from. A is not 3km west of B but 5km NW of B. Is it possible to display the diagram you are thinking of? Thanks a lot!

Question from Master the GRE, Petersons Book 2010 -Part VI - Exercise 16 Once a month, a crop duster sprays a triangular area defined by three farm houses: A, B, and C, as indicated in the figure. Farmhouse C is located 7 kilometers due east of farmhouse B, as shown. If farmhouse A is located 10 kilometers further west than farmhouse C, what is the total area that the crop duster sprays? I don't understand how the triangle is developed. I figure the location of the three A, B and C on a line, so where does the height come from?
