  1. Sure thing! I've been asking around pretty much everywhere and appreciating all the inputs.
  2. I'd say my background in Mathematics is pretty good. I took courses including Real Analysis, PDE, and Matrix Algebra. I tried to have as many as necessary courses necessary for Economics or Finance. Rochester's attrition rate scares me the most though.
  3. Yeah, I got a rejection from Simon. I checked out the publications of professors at Rochester's Economics department, and not many people I could relate. Not sure if I can switch to Finance as there are issues with Funding or whatever, but I appreciate your input!
  4. Thank you for sharing this. I'm definitely reaching out to professors at Simon.
  5. I'd say my background in Mathematics is okay. I took courses including Real Analysis, PDE, and Matrix Algebra, most of the courses I would need the most in Economics program. I applied for Simon and got rejected. Not sure if I can get as much as attention from the professors at Finance department even if I get a chance to work with them.
  6. What program should I choose between Rochester's Economics Ph.D. and Georgia State's Finance Ph.D.? I don't have much background in Economics but applied for Economics programs hoping to do research in Finance anyway. Rochester isn't in top 10, and I'm not so sure of doing well in the program given my lack of knowledge in Economics, so any advice will be greatly appreciated.
