  1. I stand corrected. Thanks animesh.
  2. 4^17 = (2^2)^17 = 2^34 2^34 - 2^28 = 2^6 The greatest prime factor can only be 2. Answer is (1)
  3. I would choose E - I & III. From the question, we can determine that t Therefore I has to be true, and II has to be false. Now about statement III - not sure about this one. But going through a few examples, it appears that c/2 E.g. c = 1 hour, h = 2 hour, therefore t = 3/2. c/2 1/2 c = 1 hour, h = 100 hours, therefore t = 100/51 c/2 1/2 I don't think that this is the best way to conclude it though, any other suggestions? Sorry, made a mistake in the previous post. Looks like c/2 c = 1 hour, h = 2 hour, therefore t = 3/2 1/2 So I guess it should be A then?
  4. It is E. Length of the wire used for the circle = 2 X r X PI = 2pir Length of the wire used for the square = 40 - 2pir Length of 1 side of the square = 10 - 1/2pir Area of circle = pir^2 Area of square = (10 - 1/2pir)^2 Total area = pir^2 + (10 - 1/2pir)^2
  5. Congratulations, and thanks so much for the WONDERFUL debrief! Lot of great tips and strategies, and not to mention highly motivating!
  6. Agree with charu on the first 3... 1) E - also notice that you can eliminate A and D, as the correct usage is 'companies' earnings' and not company's 2) A - Used POE here - could find mistakes in all other answers 3) B - 'enough to give' is the correct usage. 4) I choose B. Contrary to the scholary wisdom... that predicted the processes of A and B to be X, ethnicity is a worldwide phenomenon...
  7. Not sure about this, but this is how I see it: It says the wives of 9/10 of them. This implies that there are at least 10 married men on the tour. So 10+10= 20 men in total. 3 more women than men = 20+3 = 23 Total = 43. What's the OA?
  8. Take A = 100 Take B = 100 In the first time of the study, A=100, B=100, total = A+B = 200. In the second time, 48% of A transforms in B. That means, A = 100-48 = 52 B = 100+48 = 148 B is now 148 out of the total 200, which is 74%.
  9. I think the answer is C? The first statement is insufficient. The second statement is also insufficient. Looking at both together, you could reason that for both statements to be true, x and y both have to be multiples of 3. Any other value doesn't satisfy both conditions. What's the OA plz?
  10. Hi sleek04, I think the answer should be B only. The cube root of 81 is not 3, and not an integer too. (the cube root of 27 is 3) The only possible number that could satisfy statement 2 is 64, and thus statement 2 is sufficient. Agree?
  11. A??? I don't see how that can be possible. GmatGnat's explanation is right on track. Considering A only, how could you find out the increase in avg. contribution PER DONOR, when there is no info about the numbers or ratio of donors? Was there an explanation included?
  12. Conclusion: Obviously, any workers who participate in a Quality Circles program will, as a result, become less satisfied with their jobs. © While participating in Quality Circles at Lark Manufacturing, machine operators exhibited two of the primary indicators of improved job satisfaction: increased productivity and decreased absenteeism. C weakens the conclusion since it states that operators who participated in quality circles, did actually show signs of improved satisfaction in their jobs. This is the exact opposite of what is mentioned in the conclusion. Hope this helps.
