  11. Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Parents are the best teachers. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer. Learning is a life long process. There are several ways that a person can learn. For example, s/he can learn from her/his parents, school or direct experience. Most people normally tell that their parents are their best teachers as they have taught them since they were small. However, I only agree that parents are always good teachers but they are not the best. Why? As I mentioned earlier that one can learn throughout her/his life, I agree that the best teacher to me is my direct experience. Firstly, parents can tell you only information that they directly experience or learnt from their parents. Nonetheless, as things always change from generation to generation, the past experience that parents faced might be different from the things that their children are facing now. Hence, their experience might not be able to cover the new information that their children are experiencing now. For example, in the past 20 years, there is no emergence of computers or information technology. But these days, most people should have some knowledge about them. My to describe about this issue, my parents hardly used computer. They do not know how it works or how it can be maintained. When I have any problem about my computer. I myself have to solve or ask my brother. Secondly, some adults are afraid of changes in the very aspects of environmental factors, such as the increase in the globalization, and they might not aware of those changes at all. For example, my parents are sometimes so conservative that they do not realize the importance to adapt their business to the emergence of the new international market. We argue about this topic a lot as I see that our family business can gain benefits from this new market. However, this does not mean that these parents are not good teachers. But they might be a slow mover to change. Thirdly, some parents might not act properly. It is generally seen on the newspaper that some parents might addict to drug. They might teach their parents to sell and use the drugs. They might not act as a good role model to their children. This does not mean that their children have to follow their parent’s teaching. These children can have their own choices to be good citizen. In conclusion, although parents are always good teachers for their children, they are not the best.

  13. Hi guys This is my first time to post my essay. I will have exam this early Jan. Pls read my essay. I also appreciate all of your comments Many thanks Human being is recognized as a very intelligent and most developed creature on earth. It is obviously seen that men can adapt to the changes in the environmental factors, such as changes in climate. Also men have developed useful tools, such as swards and knife, vehicles, and even created societies. Men emigrate from one place to another place in order to find an abundant source of food and water. Recently, our earth has faced environmental problems, and we condemned that the main cause of these problems is resulted from most human activities. But some groups of people oppose that human activities are served as a way to make the Earth a better place. In my retrospective, I agree with the former group as the following reasons. Historically, our world is so fruitful that every living can live happily in the ecosystem. As we, men, have expanded our society by interfering the development of the nature in order to gain advantages from them, we, however, destroyed the earth intentionally or unintentionally. To illustrate this, when the number of our people has increased dramatically, we have to find houses to protect our people. To do this, we have to cut trees, which are wild animals’ home and their food source. Some animals are extinct because our people interrupt their ecosystem and hence, disturb their food chain. The most terrible thing that we do when we try to develop the industrial economy is that we try to exploit the nature by not realizing the consequences of our actions. Apparently, during the industry revolution we have expand our industries by utilizing resources from our nature. We dig land to find valuable gold and minerals. We kill animal to take their skin to make our clothes. Many factories emit dangerous smoke that have CFC included or throw harmful by-product to the nature without any protective process. These are just some examples. These activities lead to some certain animals to extinct and global warming In conclusion, while some group of people refer that men is the one who help make the world a better place, I would rather say that it is men who are the major factor to destroy the earth. Unless we do solve the problem or cease their harmful activities, we will not have home to animals and then our lives. We should balance our activities to our nature.
