  2. Its good that you have integrity and dedication than your boss.
  3. Its sad that the admission test to both ISI and IGIDR falls on the 7th of may. I will have to opt for IGIDR as the probability of getting into ISI is very low.
  4. I think you should put this thread under the university admissions. Alex
  5. I would prefer being in the academia (enjoying intellectual freedom as ram said). It would be of more worth to me than anything else. Alex
  6. Thank you thevinster, snappythecrab and reactor. Well I too think the same about ISI and its quantitative content but the fact is that the undergrad course i do now is not very mathematically advanced and so my chances to get into ISI is grim as they have an entrance comprising math and econ. The math is a bit advanced for me. I have made one publication in our departmental magazine. I hope its of use. I do not have many extra credits to myself but i have secured more than 80% in all my quantitative papers( i had a semester of basic econometrics) DSE entrance is relatively easier when comapred to ISI. My prep are on its way. If you have any tips which will give me an edge in these admissions and entrance tests, please do so. Thank you again. Alex
  7. Congrats to all those TMians who made it to their dream schools. I have posted for help before but to my dismay, did not get any answers, must be because i am applying to an Indian institution. I am doing my final year of undergrad in economics in India and I plan to do a masters in economics in the following schools in India. 1.ISI 2.DSE 3.JNU 4.IGIDR I would like to the get all the help I can regarding preparations for the entrance tests to these schools. Moreover I plan to do a graduate program in Economics in one of the best institutes in UK/USA. So I would like to know how to get myself equipped mainly regarding RA, TA, presenting and publishing papers, etc. So that I can plan well in advance regarding GRE and the optional math papers I have to take up. I have visited most of the frequented sites in this regard econphd.net and so on. All the best! Alex I write a blog too. http://alexmthomas.blogspot.com
