Well, I am an adult returning student. So if I had more time, I definitely would have done things different. I crammed all of the math and econ, and degree requirements into less than two years while working alot (so to get everything ready in time for applications). I would have liked to have had more math and more research experience. But I am happy with where I ended up. Despite a limited math background, I was able to get to a decent funded position in a university that's a good fit. Really overall I wouldn't have wasted years of my life running around like an ******* doing nothing and wouldn't have gone to prison for years. But hey, it happens.
  4. So one of my school's has an acceptance on grad cafe..I'm yet to hear anything.. Should I start expecting the rejection letter then?
  5. Yes. the link is provided. sorry the text of the link says "Phd" in the second line of my original post. I couldn't figure out how to change that text.
  6. Looking over their site I just noticed this. The list of required courses, does not contain a 518 Math for Economists. Link is Phd--- corresponding course numbers are on a link on the side bar. How can this be? Is anyone familiar with this program? I can't imagine that this is accurate.
  7. I'm particularly interested in University of Rhode Island Environmental Econ and West Virginia University Natural Resource Economics.... I haven't found either ranked by USNews. I did see URI ranked as number 65 AG Econ here Rankings: Resource & Agricultural Econ.. WVU's program is not listed. Just wondering how competitive, these more or less unknown programs would be.
  8. I am wondering how competitive admissions are to lower ranked ARE programs? Is it as necessary to have as substantial of a math background as for other programs?
