  1. Congrats longwait!!! I guess you wont wait much longer ;) Good luck with your applications!
  2. Thanks obelixous. Subzero, ratios and parts were also quite heavily tested.
  3. thanks vimo, bright, animatorsworld. bright, I don't know exactly how many geometry there were exactly, but there were at least 6 and less than 10
  4. I didn't forget SubZero ;) Thanks! Here are the results of the practice tests I took: Before OG Kaplan diagnose: 620 Kaplan CAT1: 600 Kaplan CAT2: 560 Kaplan CAT3: 520 After OG PS and DS Paper test 48: 650 Paper test 14: 700 Paper test 28: 700 Paper test 25: 690 Paper test 31: 650 800score test1: 630 800score test2: 650 800score test3: 680 800score test4: 650 800score test5: 670 GMAT Prep #1: 680 GMAT Prep #2: 650 After complete OG Paper test 37: 710 Paper test 55: 730 GMAT Prep #3: 740 GMAT Prep #4: 710 PowerPrep #1: 710 PowerPrep #2: 770 PowerPrep #3: 770 Kaplan CAT4: 680 I didn't have a strict plan for the study and had several stops before the exam, for professional purposes (inclusively had to cancel the Pearson VUE Limited Summer Test because I didn't have time to prepare adequately until then). My estimate is that, overall, I had about 200 hours of study, although just after I (re-)found Testmagic did I adhere to a strict plan. The most accurate predictors of the final score were PowerPrep and GMATPrep, for sure. 800score tests are good for timing purposes and for practice. Kaplan is good for an initial shock treatment, so that you wake up and do something for your life. However, they are not the best predictors. I think the most important is to do your best, always under timed conditions. Don't just look at your scores in the PTs and say: well, I think this is enough... Its never enough. Practice, practice, practice, and don't leave any question on the OG! Remember, you might be unlucky to do the exam in a bad day...
  5. Sebastian, I can't say how much this community helped me with the exam. Start browsing this forum, it will be an invaluable resource for you. I'm sure it will also be your bad day estimate! or lower! ;)
  6. I think the PS difficulty was as I expected, with a notorious increase in difficulty towards the end. The number of Combinations/Permutations in my test was 1. Yes, only one, and quite simple. The DS was harder (and also increasing difficulty towards the end), to tell the truth, but that was my weakness in the Quant, so I was already expecting it to be difficult for me...
  7. 6th October, Just finished! ;) http://www.www.urch.com/forums/showthread.php?p=221067
  8. Thanks 60sec - also for the last day support ;) - and chix. As promised, here is the report (I will report the preparation later if you wish) G-day I woke up at 6:30 with a 4 hour sleep. The flu and the stress related to the exam didn't allow me to sleep more than 8h in the last two nights. Went to the test center and arrived 1 hour earlier. Had time to make sure I knew tictaktoe's AWA template - adapted the day before to suit my needs - by heart, since I knew that keeping a high morale since the start was the only possible way to get a good score. When the lady asked for my ID, I realized that I had left it in the car, which was good, since I caught some fresh air in my head and woke up...lol The Exam Started smoothly with the AWA. The first was the analysis of an argument. It was a management argument related to the effectiveness of a communications campaign. Easily spotted the assumptions, the evidence that lacked, etc and finished it. The last 7 minutes I reviewed what I had done and waited the last 3 minutes for a short rest. The analysis of an issue was quite easy and was related to professional careers. Forgot some of the template I had adapted, but no worries, I improvised and ended up 5 minutes ahead of time. ------------------------------------------------------------- Break 1: Went outside, breathed some fresh air, focusing for the next section, in which I believed I could get a 51. Drank the Redbull, since my energy was running out due to the lack of sleep and the flu. ------------------------------------------------------------- Quant: Started with quite easy questions, much like OG's medium difficulty questions. In the whole section, there was just one EASY combination problem (permutation, in fact ;)), nothing like arjmen's problems - btw, some of which I found tremendously helpful in understanding certain concepts -, which are way ahead in terms of difficulty. There were some ratios and some speed problems, much like the OG, on average easier than the GMATPrep, until the last half hour. After that, I clearly realized the degree of difficulty had greatly increased, much like GMATPrep or some of Kaplan's. I still don't know where I made the mistakes (but unfortunately, probably in the begining...:(). I wish ETS gave the possibility to check where I got wrong... ------------------------------------------------------------- Break 2: Went outside again, went to the toilet, breathed some fresh air and focused on verbal, knowing that it would determine my score, from now on. When the last minute was finishing, got back into the room. ------------------------------------------------------------- Verbal: this section started with 2 SC's and then 2 RC passages. Just about the 11th question came the first CR question. 3 RC passages had about 50-60 lines and the other had about 90! My overall feeling of the degree of difficulty of the verbal section was that it was much like the difficulty of PowerPrep. I finished this section convinced I would get at least a 42 in verbal and a 750 on the whole. Answered I would like the result reports, twice, and the 710 appeared. I was really disappointed at first, since I was targeting 750, but when I was coming back home I noticed it was not so bad afterall. Well, maybe not enough for a guy (yes, guy ;)) with only 3 years work experience that is targeting 5 of the top 10 Business Schools in the US and the INSEAD. But at least I think I am not excluded from the start, since the averages of the students of those BS's are about 710 and lower.
  9. Hi all, First of all, thank you ALL for your support. Just came back from the test centre with a 710, having the feeling that I could have done much better, although I still don't know in which questions I made the mistakes. 710 was the lower limit of my estimate: Quant Good day: 51 Normal day: 50 Bad day: 48 Verbal Good day: 44 Normal day: 40 Bad day: 36 Overall Good day: 750 Normal day: 730 Bad day: 710 Yet, I am tight with the deadlines, and I'd rather spend my time on the essays than try to increase a maximum of 40 points (and even risk to lower my score). So 710 will be the score I'll report.;) These were just a few thoughts. I'll get back here today or tomorrow morning with a full report. Once again, thank you all!
  10. Tictaktoe, Thanks for the last day revision notes. I'm sure they will be pretty useful, since I have rescheduled - some time ago - the exam to Thursday, the 6th Oct, in the morning. Wish me luck! ;)
  11. Thank you all for your explanations! Understood. ;)
  12. Interesting and important explanation, thanks ;)
