Hello all, I am under H1-B and took a pharmacist sign-on bonus for 3 year contract.I worked for 3 and 1/2 years total and 2 and 1/2 year after got the license. After finding employer no longer sponsor green card, I quit to a different employer who will hopefully will do it.During these 2 and 1/2 years previous employer has been telling he will do it(Both oral and e-mail communication).But never did.Sign on bonus contract is for the district XXXX(Number yyy).But they never put me in that district as per contract says.As per contract terms I left 6 moths early. (I would have left early if they told me well inadvance that they would not apply for Green card.That should have put me in a better postion as new employer would have good amount of time to apply))I planned everything around the old employer and even bought a home.They never give me a staff position but let me keep floating and tried to use me in the best interest of the company.I was very quiet, hoping that, I was working for a great company and one day they would sponsor my green card. I quit 6 months early as I do not have a choice. This happened 3 months ago.Now the problem is, old employer is asking me to pay the entire sign-on bonus back. They refused when I am willing to pay for 6 months pro-rated. They damaged me a lot during these 3 and 1/2 years but asking me money in return. I even do not know my present employer has enough time to get me on the board for green card on time. I even do not know if the current employer when is going to apply if at all is going to. If I have to leave the country when my H1-B expires even I am not sure If I can sell my home. It was not my intention to leave the company.It was the company's changed policies that made me to find an other employer. What should I do? Pay the sign-on bonus back? What are my options? You can not transfer after you pass the test. If that is the case everybody does that to save money.

Hi Kipper, you can only transfer naplex score before taking the test. The catch is if one fails the test they need to send the cheque once again for 75$ for each state before they reappear for Naplex. That sucks? So just forget about the score transfer now in your case. Would you please tell us the Kaplan theory book or APHA was more useful in passing the test?. Did you read or find useful ASPH? THANKS

Call to michigan board or look in lawbook sent by michigan board.

If you are good with APHA then go with Kaplan. If you are not comfortable with APHA I suggest you close completely Kaplan and read only APHA.

Call Michigan Board, explain your specific situation and take a decission. Not sure what to do and if I were you I would definitely renew it. It's safe and worth spending few extra dollars. Thanks

Are you practiced the spoken part? If not simple thing is leave a voice mesage on your own telephone as you exactly speak in the test and listen to your voice 3-4 times. Fine tune in a way you like it. Repeat the process for a week. The quality (Of course for the sake of examiner) would dramatically changes. Then you can ask one of your friend or household to listen to the message if you still need to improve. Alternative to voice message is your computer go to start programmes accessories entertainment sound recorder. you can record for 1 minute and listen back. Remember three things 1) Loud, Loud, Loud (pretend the listener has a hearing problem) 2) Clear, Clear, Clear (pretend the listener's english understanding ability is only 50% of general public. In other words your english is far superior and you really need to be clear so that others can understand by listening just one time) 3) Confident, Confident, Confident ( What ever you say is right. Pretend you are the boss and the listerner is your sub ordinate and taking the notes what ever you say) These three are interlinked and when you try to keep these in your answer, the quality and quantity of your answer would be better than you would imagine ( For instance, you can not say a sentence you would not agree, with Confidence) . So just focus on these three. After practice, ask yourself if you fulfill above three things with your voice message and confirm with a friend and the next confirmation automatically comes from ETS. Do not panic with the test. Most of us are all gone through this. You are not the first one. Some times I feel, though TSE gave me hard time, I learned lot of things. For more advice go to the TSE or Toefl forum. Good luck
