  1. i agree wholeheartedly with Stormgal. why would anyone be dissapointed at a 700?
  2. hi mikeR, sorry to hear about the exam. you will do better next time. can you share how you prepared for the exam? what books, etc.?
  3. nutty, don't worry, and believe in yourself that you can do better. don't give up because you will eventually get there. if you want an online course, you may look into gmaxonline.com. they are pretty good, and teach the fundamentals rather than tricks such as princeton and kaplan do. as chauhan suggested, work through the [tooltip=Official Guide]OG[/tooltip] again and understand the concepts behind each of the questions. you won't see the same question again on the real exam, but if you understand the concept, you'll be able to apply it on test day.

    How do you know?

i doubt there is any pattern. if your questions are getting harder (i.e. you see probability, combination/permutation) early in the test, you are probably doing better. it's probably better not to psychologically wonder if you are doing good or not during the actual exam.
  5. I'll go with © as well. The argument states that if the highways could support cars and only trucks that are less than 8 tons, then much of the truck traffic would be on other highways. This implies that the trucks currently on the highway are greater than 8 tons and are attributing to the collisions.
  6. kaplan course is not very good - they don't even use the official guide in their course. it'll teach you the fundamentals, but won't give you rigorous problem solving. my suggestion is to work through the [tooltip=Official Guide]OG[/tooltip], set it aside for a few weeks and work through kaplan materials, then return to the [tooltip=Official Guide]OG[/tooltip] on any missed questions. all this time, do practice exams once a week.
  7. i think they are pretty common on the GMAT. did you try looking through the princeton review or kaplan reviews on mean, median, mode, and standard deviation?
