  1. Same here. I may be optimistic but I think by summer the restrictions would be lifted or at least loosened. Otherwise I think what SSh described seems like a reasonable course of actions. I was also thinking how does the COVID-19 affect the admission process at the moment? If the colleges close down, would it slow down the decisions that are still yet to be made (eg regarding applicants that have been waitlisted). Hope everyone stays safe and healthy.
  2. Does anyone know when Boston and/or UCSB plan to release their decisions or whether they have done it already? Based on the data from gradcafe from the previous years they used to release it earlier but this year no one so far has posted their admissions decisions for these schools neither here nor on gradcafe. Thanks!
  3. Has anyone been admitted/waitlisted at Georgetown? There are a bunch of rejections at Gradcafe, so I assume not hearing anything is a positive sign? But at the same time it seems a bit strange as so far the majority of schools sent out acceptances and waitlists before the rejections.
  4. I can confirm that this is not the case - I checked on the website first and then got an email
  5. nstitution:Yale Program: PhD Economics Decision: Rejected Funding: NA Date: 02/17/2020 Notified through: Website Comments: feels bad to get 2 rejections in a few hours but not surprised with this one
  6. Institution:Zurich GSE Program: PhD Economics Decision: Rejected Funding: NA Date: 02/17/2020 Notified through: Email Comments: Disappointed but better than implicit rejection
  7. There were a lot of notifications posted on GC on Saturday (e.g. from Rice) so I assume at least some send out notifications outside of regular business hours
  8. There are no waitlists from Vanderbilt on GC, so it could be a waitlist, so I think it's too early to assume it's a rejection
  9. No. Perhaps they are sending out emails in waves? or maybe the GC post was fake
  10. There were a couple earlier this week, I think. You can check previous pages of this thread. But I don't think we should worry too much yet: there were only a couple of admits, even if they are not fake, it's probably only the first wave.
  11. I think it potentially can reflect changes: if you click View checklist there is an Application Status info. But mine also is unchanged so far. Update: I've also had a look at the data, of Gradcafe admittances, apparently Brown did admit some applicants this early in 2017 and 2014: on 2nd Feb in 2017 (although it was just 2 entries that could have been fake) and on Feb 6-11 in 2014 (many people posted, unlikely to be fake). So it is possible that it is real
  12. Huge congrats! Do you mind sharing which letter does your surname start with? I wonder if they are sending out admits in alphabetical order.
  13. Has anyone heard anything back from Michigan State? According to gradcafe, they sent out interview invitations to international students but I haven't heard anything and I wonder whether it is a bad sign or they just send the invitations out in waves?
  14. I think, while partially it is due to noise, the other thing is that lower ranked places may reject overqualified candidates who they are certain will go somewhere else.
  15. It’s the summary of a poster’s previous decisions, as far as I know in this case 2 accepted, 1 waitlisted, 6 rejected, 8 pending But idk what ir means 😂
