  1. cool down buddy! sometimes people cant understand and always think that they are correct and everybody is like them. Actually this is to satisfy themselves that they are nothing wrong. the discussion wouldnt have gone so far instead of telling u have such friends, u would have said that u have a girlfriend.isnt it coolpaggy? everything would have stopped there itself. where the world is heading i wonder  and ofcourse i am sure that even if meson enters into an affair, it would be someone of his choice and may be one among his those good friends[just a possibility]
  2. its really a good one. i got much information.thanks
  3. i also was sneezing yesterday whole evening though the weather was hot...i think high temp also causes cold
  4. I f i were you then I wouldnt have tolerated.I think where a person cant tell the truth, he/she should keep quiet :D [shouldnt say anything ].its humorous when someone lies knowing that the other person is well aquainted with the truth . well i am also waiting for people's comments. :)
  5. hi, I will be appearing for physics GRE but dont know whether there are books available in the market of GRE physics or not...though i have books from where i can read the matter, i want a compact material which could give me an idea abt the syllabus and the pattern of questions...so where i can find such a book...i would prefer one having questions and solutions... thanks in advance
  6. reading a modern physics book wont be sufficient!! its better to deal with every topic seperately...i have also done bsc books may comeup with the list of names if u want to study from those....griffith is very good book..try to finish the exercises...i will also be preparing for subject gre , i just saw this forum..its really great !!
  7. first what are H and B? as far as std symbols are considered, H is magnetc field and B is flux density and are realted to each othet as B= n H where n is cont of proportionality called as permeability so B cant be flux density for this particular Q else B should increase as much as H increases...is the Q complete? also force acting depends on dist of charge from the magnet but since its inhomogenous, its field cant be considered uniform....first tell is this the whole Q or not??????
  8. could u explain to us first for what purpose u r going to australia? and what trade are u in, going for which one??
  9. well i dont know how much this is true...but till 5 years i played with everything from dolls to cars(i asked my mother) and i can see many cars still there in the cupboard ......and afterwards till 9th std i played in the colony, football and cricket...not only me, my cousin( sister) also was there...and to be honest we didnt play that bad!! and also in school till 11th std, our batch was the only one where girls played football during games period...the games teacher was very good to spend time with us, he used to become referee :) and we always had a fight with boys for getting the better part of the ground, so had to rush as soon as the bell rang...so i am lucky that i always was with people who used to play everything and never had such notions...though some girls were there who didnt play and not to mention, they belonged to a diff group who had many times conflict with me(they could only gossip abt boys and could do nothing constructive ,ofcourse cant as u can see the topic of their discussion only reveals that they were fools [they couldnt find anything better to discuss])... but most of us in our class played...so dont make anything universal!!
  10. why should i check? I have other works! these interest you not me so u go ahead..i just entered few of my words as i was going by the post....i better would like to stare at the planets and galaxies through an optical telescope :) ..
  11. cant u try to take them at some other univ? or if there is any such private insts which employ profs on a part time basis to teach students, that could also be tried....many insts have summer school programs where formal application needed to be done..i dont know its there in bangladesh or not ...if its there u may apply to those insts...i dont think u need to learn from your univ only! or is there again any such rule that u cant even apply to other places /learn somewhere else....
  12. I agree that there may be rigid course schedule and number of courses to be taken but that doesnt mean that you cannot spend some time of your own outside your univ. for doing other courses..i know some people who did some mathematics courses while they were preparing for CAT...so what i cant understand is why a student isnt allowed to take extra courses outside the univ if not in math dept of the same univ...
  13. is it so that they wont allow u to take courses that are not offered at your univ. and that are reqd for your personal matters? it shouldnt be as someone may want to change trade also and in that case its his/her personal choice whether to take extra courses or not! noone is going to spend their univ's money after all...till now i have heard the univs that are strict, only forbid the profs working there from private tutoring but there shouldnt be any bindings for students! its ridiculous...but if indeed its so then you should talk to the dean/authority of your inst to allow you for your specific reasons, they should be giving permission...if not then i must say they dont belong to planet earth!
  14. thats terrible ! i think an optimum time needs to be set,not too early as well as not late! :)
  15. CREDIT CARD FRAUD SCENE 1: A friend went to the local gym and placed his belongings in the locker. After the workout and a shower, he came out, saw the locker open, and thought to himself, "Funny, I thought I? locked the locker. Hmmmmm." He dressed and just flipped the wallet to make sure all was in order. Everything looked okay - all cards were in place. A few weeks later his credit card bill came - a whooping bill of $14,000! He called the credit card company and started yelling at them, saying that he did not make the transactions. Customer care personnel verified that there was no mistake in the system and asked if his card had been stolen. "No," he said, but then took out his wallet, pulled out the credit card, and yep - you guessed it - a switch had been made. An expired similar credit card from the same bank was in the wallet. The thief broke into his locker at the gym and switched cards. Verdict: The credit card issuer said since he did not report the card missing earlier, he would have to pay the amount owed to them. How much did he have to pay for items he did not buy? $9,000! Why were there no calls made to verify the amount swiped? Small amounts rarely trigger a "warning bell" with some credit card companies. It just so happens that all the small amounts added up to big one! SCENE 2: A man at a local restaurant paid for his meal with his credit card. The bill for the meal came, he signed it, and the waitress folded the receipt and passed the credit card along. Usually, he would just take it and place it in his wallet or pocket. Funny enough, though, he actually took a look at the card and, lo and behold, it was the expired card of another person. He called the waitress and she looked perplexed. She took it back, apologized, and hurried back to the counter under the watchful eye of the man. All the waitress did while walking to the counter was wave the wrong expired card to the counter cashier, and the counter cashier immediately looked down and took out the real card. No exchange of words - nothing! She took it and came back to the man with an apology. Verdict: Make sure the credit cards in your wallet are yours. Check the name on the card every time you sign for something and/or the card is taken away for even a short period of time. Many people just take back the credit card without even looking at it, thinking that it has to be theirs. FOR YOUR OWN SAKE, DEVELOP THE HABIT OF CHECKING YOUR CREDIT CARD EACH TIME IT IS RETURNED TO YOU AFTER A TRANSACTION! SCENE 3: Yesterday I went into a pizza restaurant to pick up an order that I had called in. I paid by using my Visa Cheque Card which, of course, is linked directly to my chequing account. The young man behind the counter took my card, swiped it, then laid it flat on the counter as he waited for the approval, which is pretty standard procedure. While he waited, he picked up his cell phone and started dialing. I noticed the phone because it is the same model I have, but nothing seemed out of the ordinary. Then I heard a click that sounded like my phone sounds when I take a picture. He then gave me back my card but kept the phone in his hand as if he was still pressing buttons. Meanwhile,? I'm thinking: I wonder what he is taking a picture of, oblivious to what was really going on. It then dawned on me: the only thing there was my credit card, so now I'm paying close attention to what he is doing. He set his phone on the counter, leaving it open. About five seconds later, I heard the chime that tells you that the picture has been saved. Now I'm standing there struggling with the fact that this boy just took a picture of my credit card. Yes, he played it off well, because had we not had the same kind of phone, I probably would never have known what happened. Needless to say, I immediately canceled that card as I was walking out of the pizza parlor. All I am saying is, be aware of your surroundings at all times. Whenever you are using your credit cards, take caution and don't be careless. Notice who is standing near you and what they are doing when you use your card. Be aware of phones because many have a camera phone these days. When you are in a restaurant and the waiter/waitress brings your card and receipt for you to sign, make sure you scratch the number off. Some restaurants are using only the last four digits, but a lot of them are still putting the whole thing on there. I have already been a victim of credit card fraud and, believe me, it is not fun. The truth is that they can get you even when you are careful, but don't make it easy for them.

  18. international publications have much higher value than local ones...and also there are diff journals and if yours get published in some known one then u get much credit for that...but still i think u should provide them all...an international paper supplemented by few local ones may bring some more points for u....
  19. congrats ritwik... :) the things u r talking abt are in india also though now the sunny weather has become intolerable ...here the psycology girls/english honors girls are too good looking...even girls stare at them as i have heard from science students of same colleges....and bio students of tifr mumbai are also very good looking ...boys say so and praise a lot abt them....so u can also go there :D but stay away from physics students as the same people say that they have raised noses and dont find them palatable.total clash!.... a tip from me :)
