  1. Well, if its your cousin, you can lie that you dont have any relatives in the US to the Visa Officer. But, if he's your real brother, then its better you admit the truth because they can easily track down whether you have one or not. Anyways its mandatory filling the details of all your blood relatives in one of the visa forms.
  2. I am Arvind and going for an MS to the ISYE department at GATech, hope to meet all of you guys.
  3. I am Arvind Ganesan and am going for an MS to the department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, at Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta. No financial aid though. Anyone going to the same department can PM me.
  4. My profile: GRE: 1340 (770Q +570V+5.5AWA) TOEFL:293 TSE: 55/60 Acads: 65.1% over 7 semesters from Univ of Mumbai ( Among the top 8-10% of students at Univ of Mumbai) Remarks: I had very good LOR's, a good SOP and a pretty decent resume.
  5. Hi friends, I am Arvind and have been admitted for the MS program in Operations Research at Georgia Tech, RPI, NCSU, USC. I have been rejected by Cornell and am yet to hear from Columbia Univ, UNC, UFL. At all the places I have got an admit, I have not been promised any financial aid as of now. But 3 out of the 5 places want me to sumbit their "Intent to Enroll" form by 1st of April preferably and deadline for acceptance of their offer is 15th April. At most places, aid decisions for masters applicants takes place in the month of April. Hence, is it okay if I accept their offers right now and later on if any university does happen to offer me financial aid of some kind, I shift to that school or is it that filling of " Intent to Enroll" form means that you are totally committed to joining that school.
