thanks for replying knd7..... well, i agree with you that Cornell's MEng is gonna be hectic and costly but i feel Penn State isn't very cheap too. Are you sure getting into Cornell ECE is easier than Penn State? :hmm: Also....how would you compare a graduate from Cornell with a graduate from Penn State from the job perspective..... Cornell's huge reputation is hard to overlook(this is my personal view).....what say guys? plzz can anybody shed some more light.......i'm eagerly waiting for inputs

Hello all, I'm considering admits from ECE Cornell MEng. and Penn State MS for fall 2006.My area of interest is wireless comm. and n/w. Cornell's name and reputation make it an obvious choice but please can anybody guide me keeping in mind factors like: a)job prospects after masters b)Cornell offers management electives which is a plus while PSU doesn't but i think PSU's technical courses are more focused in my area of interest.Correct me if i'm wrong. c)MEng is a 1 yr. prog. and MS is 1.5-2 yrs....does that make a difference from the job perspective? I'd be really grateful if someone could advise which school should i go for as I have to respond soon. Thanx in advance

won't it be just (m-2p)*(n-2p)?

1.workers w produces n units in 5hrs. workers V and W working independently but at same time produce n units in 2hrs. how long would it take V alone to produce n units?? 1/5+1/v=1/2 v=10/3 hrs 2. The total cost of renting a boat was orginally to be shared equally by 8 people. If the number of people is increased by 4, the cost per person will be $1 less. Col A : total cost of renting the boat Col B: $ 25 ANS :B 8x=12(x-1) x=3 or 8x=24 3.Airline must charge an 11% tax on price of an airticket. Airline wishes to charge whole dollar amount of $433 for ticket including tax, What price neraesr $0.01 should airline set for ticket before tax is added? ANS :390.09 433/1.11=390.09

i suppose the ans wud be d i.e. 84%
-
The ans wud be d i.e 1/3 even numbers b/w 1 and 9 are 2,4,6,8 now n(s)=4c2=6 event that the sum of numbers is 8 will be (2,6) or(6,2).....a permutation n(e)=2 p(e)=2/6=1/3

As per the 1st question, as the avg. of 4 difft numbers is 3 which means their sum is=4*3=12 Now if 7 is one of the 4 nos. than the other three(being difft. positive) wud have to be 1,2 and 3(trying the least) and their sum becomes=13 which is not possible.....thus the integers shud be less than 7 i suppose its clear :) for the 2nd question, Plane 1 has a speed of m mph and plane 2 has (m+50)mph As they both travel towards one another the net speed= (2m+50)mph the distance they have to cover is R miles..... as s=v*t we find the time at which they cross t=R/(2m+50) hrs Now since plane 1 travels at m mph it is Rm/(2m+50) miles away from A at the time it crosses plane 2 so the ans. = Rm/(2m+50) miles just to check try plucking in nos. and verify cheers:tup:

i think the ans wud be E i.e 3:2
