  1. Hey All, My admits for MS (CS) : OSU (Ohio) - No Aid NCSU - No Aid Syracuse - 30% aid UConn - full aid possible (not confirmed yet) Waiting for UMinn (delay due to reco letters missing, but now they are considering my application) Can some one suggest me from the first four, which one would make a good bet? NCSU is pretty bad at aid. OSU is luring me, but tough on measuring the risk...UConn looks good, but ranked 65 .. Can some one advise me as to which path should I take !! Thx & regards Shireesh
  2. hi all, I have followed with Elizabeth O'Neil at OSU and she has helped me let me know the details..Further, I got a mail from Ms. Caldwell saying that I should be receiving my i-20 soon..The aided people were indeed mailed long back.. I am a part of the CS yahoo-group at NCSU and after seeing all the mails, it is a decisive knock out indeed interms of aid...I hope the scenario is comparaitively better in OSU. I am into networking and I heard that this group is raising funds soon..Irrespective, I wish I could make atleast a GAA position which is just ruled out at NCSU. FDTD, please tell me if it's possible that I might be aidless even after a sem or so?? I know it depends on lot of things...but in general, can you please give me more info... For others, yes the website shows changed status...After a long and boring "IN ACADEMIC REVIEW" to "DECISION" :) Any other OSU seniors, folks..please comment on the aid status... regards Shireesh
  3. I have made an admit at NCSU and OSU(Ohio State University) for MS (CS), but do not have any aid from both the schools. Looks like NC is bad for aid while I do not know much on OSU. Can some one please suggest what could be the better of the two. Shireesh
  4. here, waiting for the results deperately...No news yet from OSU...please share any news if some know has... am actually planning to call them... Shireesh
  5. Any news for others?? I have applied to MS (CS) but not heard anything from here... please let me know of any new developments.. regards Shireesh
  6. Hi Centurion.. Shireesh here..I am into NCSU too for MS (CS)..no aid though... aren't you on NCSU-FALL2005groups??? nyways, tell me your plans??? joining elsewhere?? regards Shireesh
  7. Hey, Which mail id did you send it to?? The gradinfo@..id bounces backl invariably... I have applied for MS - CS and ofcrse, no news YET. regards Shireesh
  8. Hi all, Perhaps, my question is not a new one..yet I would like to gather more views.. Question is how important the rank/reputation of the school as compared to the aid scenario, for [ + an MS (CS) degree + looking for a good job and not majorly into Phd/research plans + already posses 2 yrs of work experience + do not really posses personal funds/ haftu go for loans ] I am caught up in such dilemma...I posses admissions for MS-CS from NCSU/Syracuse/University of Connecticut.. am waiting to hear from Rutgers/OSU/UMinn/UCdavis. I have contacted a professor at Uconnecticut and it looks a promising place for getting funded.. Aid scenario at NCSU is absolutely minimal! and Syracuse clearly states no AID for Intl' MS CS students..OTH, Connecticut is not as highly ranked as the rest... I would like to know if going to UConn and having a debt free graduation is better ?? Is UConn okay for Job prospects??? and one more question is about the transfers...How feasible is it to go to other schools if you find your current one is not quite upto it ?? Thanks for your precious time.. regards Shireesh
  9. Hi, I have applied to Rutgers (MS-CS) and I did submit my application ages ago...I am yet to receive any kind of news from there... I did mail to Joanne Walsh (if some one knows him), but he replied that he is yet to hear from the department.. Please tell if admits are posted!! regards Shireesh
  10. Hi all, I am a newbie here..Would like to know more on Connecticut. As such, I have an admit from Connecticut (MS-CS) and it seems there are better chances of getting funded over here.. My other admits include NCSU/Syracuse, but there looks no chance of an aid over there...I know that these schools are better ranked as compared to UConn!! But funding is essential to me too... I request to know if the gap between the reputation of NC/Syracuse can be a justified tradeoff for the funding at Uconn? Thanks for your time..please post your thoughts. regards Shireesh
