Hello guys. Finally got admits from all the universities I applied to, for MS in Computer Engg spring 2006. USC UMass Amherst CWRU Boston University Polytechnic Univ IIT Chicago NJIT Please advice me on selecting one. Am thinking of USC, as most of my friends told me to. What do u guys think of UMass, CWRU, Boston?

Yea. They have job fairs once every six months. Hey cud someone tell me wat to choose between USC & CWRU?

I ve had a similar problem. Sometimes, these people at university feel too lazy to update your file. You can call up the admissions dept at CMU. They r gonna tell u tht ur file needs to be updated. And on one fine day, they are gonna add your our score report to your file. So, all u need to do is have a little more patience. Good luck, Sid

Hi guys,Am also going to USC this spring for MS in Computer Engineering.@navdeepbajwa: u need to show that your liquid assets are enough to support your first year of study. Also u need to show that you have enough property to support your other terms of study. more the assets you show, more the chances of getting visa. Regarding your immovable assets, you need to get it valuated. Secondly and monst importantly,YOUR ORIGINAL SCORE REPORT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT!! APPLY FOR ADDITIONAL REPORT RIGHT AWAY!! Good luck

Thanx Neversaydie & Ritwik for some really useful advice. I do not have any research exp or publications. Regarding the university i'm passin out my bachelors from. Topper has 68% aggregate. I have 62%. I 've topped in 3rd year of my engineering. And also topped in 7th semester, and waiting for my 8th semester results.Hoping to top again. My aggregate is poor because of my bad performance in second year of engineering. I don't know how much its gonna affect. So wut should i be doing next? Should I retake GRE? What if quant score drops when i retake? Thats the reason why I am not very comfortable in retaking. Comments please

Hello Guys, I am lookin forward to apply for Spring 06 Computer engineering(MS) I got a GRE score of V390 Q800 A5.0 TOEFL - 273 Enggineerin aggregate - 62% I got stong recos and a pretty good SOP. As you see, my verbal score is really very poor. have reported scores to IIT chicago, NJIT I SHALL BE V.V.V.V.V.V.V.V.V GRTFUL IF SOMEONE COULD TELL ME A FEW UNIVERSITIES WHERE THEY DO NOT STRESS ON GRE VERBAL. OR AM I NOWHERE BECAUSE OF MY VERBAL? eagerly waiting for response

What bout ur GPA, recos? I to hav a bad score v390 q800 a5.0. So, ur domain is electical/electronics engg? I have spoken to some consultants. The good news is tht in many cases this department does not consider verbal score for admissions. You could try University of southern Cali. Its a good university. But the aid scene is real bad. If you are applying for spring, its gonna be hard to get aid. The bad news is , teaching assistantships are hard to get with low verbal. But, since you have work exp, u could try for research assistantship. Some people i know , have got aid with a low verbal( below 400) at these univs: -Saint Joseph's univ at philadelphia -West Virginia Inst of tech @ Montogomory -Temple Univ I dunno how good these univs are. Up to you to find out.
