  1. math problems on the NAPLEX are not simple nor that easy, you have to memorize the simple rules and recall it fast on the exam. they are easy points, so don't lose them. Also, focus on the pediatric dosing rules. APHA first Chapter is good enough. More Calculations—Pediatric Rules this one for pediatric rules. good luck.

    Lab Values

no need to memorize, it's all provided in the patient profile, good luck
  3. I didn't get the training yet but I will "hopefully", after I get the permanent Michigan License. I will tell you later regarding these courses when I am actively enrolled.
  4. These courses are not related to where you were graduated from, they are offered by the chain pharmacy you work for. Rite Aid offered me these courses, and they really want you to do it because it will increase the profitability for the company when you give FLU shots and do MTM for Insurance companies. You need to check with the employer for these 2 courses, and by the way, I am a foreign intern as well working for Rite Aid and waiting for NAPLEX score and my MPJE is on Thursday, The Day After Tomorrow :-D. Wish me LUCK. Good Luck to you too.
  5. MTM and also do the Immunization course to be an immunizing pharmacist. Good Luck and Congratulations on both NAPLEX and MPJE.
  6. I don't know why you couldn't see your scores, but everyone else checked their scores already. You should call ETS and ask about the scores of may 3rd 'cause it's already posted online. Good Luck
  7. I also did good, even though I didn't imagine that I could get good scores on may 3rd, but I received an overall score of 108. Reading:29 Listening:26 Speaking:26 Writing: 27
  8. I got my may 3rd scores, an overall score of 108: reading: 29 listening: 26 speaking: 26 writing: 27
  9. I'll tell you something, regarding the speaking section, I started earlier than the others, maybe that was a positive thing to reduce the amount of distraction for a while, but to be honest with you, I am so bad in talking about familiar topic and maybe that's why I got fair in the first two questions, but in the 4th question, I was completely devastated because I couldn't complete reading the topic and I lost all the notes I wrote down because when it was time to listen to the academic lecture which explained part of the topic, I couldn't understand my own handwriting, can you believe that?, so I was confused and didn't know what to do, and kept going uhhh, ummm, and I received a good score on part 3 and 4. That was pretty funny and ironic. Part 5 and 6 were very good and I used connected ideas without hesitation. Finally, I ended up with 1 fair and 2 goods. The writing section was never a probelm for me 'cause everytime I scored above the required score, and here is how I used to do it. For the first essay, it's always about making a comparison between what the lecturer is going to say to oppose the ideas illustrated in the topic, and that's the key, just try to put the points one by one and compare it with what the lecturer said about it. No ideas or creativity. Regarding the second essay, try to choose one of the choices and use two examples. The one I had was regarding if technology decreased the creativity among children, so my choice was; I disagree and I used computers and television as two examples to support that technology may improve children's creativity. Simplicity is the key, at least for my case. Good luck :grad::tup:
  10. I got an overall score of 108, Reading: 29, Listening: 26, Speaking: 26, and Writing: 27. Congratulations to all those who passed, that was my 5th trial and I finally did it. Good luck guys, and I wish you all a successful career and a joyful life.
  11. Sorry, but I forgot to tell the one who uploaded the youtube presentation to make it downladable so we can upload it later on iReport section for CNN. Thanks again.
  12. Please guys, consider rating the youtube presentation with 5 stars, because this will make more popular and it will be on the fron page soon. Thank you. P.S. Don't forget to send the link to CNN also by any means.
  13. Then it's a hopeless case Knok, and I'm sorry to tell you that. I believe when they see the drop down of pharmacists number for 2008, they will take the change into consideration. I don't think they will do or think of doing anything in the meantime.
  14. Medical students seeking residency in US are not asked for the Toefl test anymore. They have somthing called CS; an interview with some paid actors pretending to be patients. Now, if we're going to talk to the NABP, then I suggest that we find a way somehow to convince them that such an alternative, or similar to it, is applicable for foreign pharmacists. They should examine our english proficiency by themselves or by the boad of the state we apply for it's internship license, or they can make the Toefl with an overall score rather than requiring a separate minimum score for each section. I believe that this BLACKMAIL should stop in oneway or another. You have all my support guys. A.J
  15. For Mi intern license, I called the Board of Pharmacy myself and I already sent my application after june 2007, and they put my aplication on hold until I send them the FPGEC certificate by mail or by fax. Prior to june 2007 all applicants who received their intern license or yet waiting for it because of the Toefl iBt are qualified to sit for NAPLEX without the FPGEE certificate. I'm still waiting for my revised score report for Toefl to send it to NABP and then fax the certificate to MI Board of Pharmacy.
  16. For RBC, You can log in to ETS: Educational Testing Service – Home and log in to your account, then you have to request a form for rescoring, then you can download the form, print it and mail it to them with the form of payment you like to use. You can actually request the speaking and writing sections to be rescore, and you have to pay 60$ for each one, so your total would be 120 for both. It took me to weeks and got the responce from them, and I believe it depend on your location. I wish you the best in the rescoring process.
  17. THANK YOU KINGTUT How are you sister?, where have you been?
  18. Thank you Knok. I know!!, I am sure now that they have a big problem in the scoring process, yet, they still depend on ETS for English standards. I wish the best of luck and success for every foreign pharmacist in US.
  19. I know that this thread shoud be posted in the Toefl Form and I apologize for that, but I thought that I should share it with you guys cause I am a pharmacist and I wanted all foreign pharmacists who struggled or still struggling with Toefl iBT to know that there is a hope. The Toefl scoring report for 12/12/2007 was: Reading 27 Listening 19 Speaking 23 Writing 24 Now, my exam was 7:30 AM wednesday morning, and i had to work 10 hours shift on monday and tuesday, and that's why I justified my poor performance on the Listening section because I was really exhausted, but the one I couldn't find an excuse for was the speaking section score and I mentioned before how frustrated I was about it and that I sent a rescoring request for it. I've received the rescore result by mail yesterday and they actually added 4 points to my previous 23, so now it's 27 and that's what I was looking for. I wanted to thank Pharmalady, one of the Speaking section victims, who encouraged me also to go for rescoring. I just wanted you guys to know that whenever you score all what they ask for, but between 23 and 25 in speaking, then, you should definitley go for rescoring and never hesitate. Now I am done with FPGEE and hopefully with FPGEC too, and I will see you guys in the NAPLEX form. Best of luck and success for all of you.
  20. Hey Knok, I just wanted to let you know that I just checked with the Michigan Board and they decided not to continue with anything until they receive a verification from the FPGEC that I completed the certification program. Meanwhile, I'm waiting for ETS to send me the Speaking Rescoring Report, and it's going to take approximately three weeks. Wish me luck bro.
  21. PharmaLady, I just want to thank you for this encouraging reply, and I am praying :notworthyday and night to the Almighty for the 3 more points I need. Thank you again and I wish you all the success in your career. Anas Rayes :grad:
  22. Greetings guys, I just received my iBT scores online for 12/12/2007 test and I am really frustrated and upset because of the speaking section "again". I got 23 and I believe that I did one of my best shots in that section. Therefore, I will go for rescoring. Is there anyone who did the rescoring and got a better result?. Please share with me your opinions and concerns. I really appreciate it. :(
  23. There is a difference between both things you've just mentioned. It actually depends on what you're looking for. If you are looking for a pharmacist position, then you have two options. The first one is to choose to be pharmacist in an OutPatient hospital pharmacy, and that's the same job as if you chose to work in retail, like Walgreens, CVS, or Rite Aid. The second option is to work as a pharmacist in InPatient hospital pharmacy where you don't have to deal with customers anymore, but you would be responsible of the patients whom are still in the hospital receiving medications. In these two positions you'll not get more payments than the retail pharmacist, because in retail you'd get paid more, and I believe they don't pay more than 43$/hour. Now, if you're looking to be specialized in Clinical Pharmacology, Oncology, or any other pharmacy field, then you have to go for residency and that's completely different than being a regular pharmacist and new rules should apply. I believe that you wouldn't be able to collect more than 30,000 $ a year during the residency, but after you finish, you'll have more options waiting for you, and the best thing is to find out what exactly you are looking for. I hope that I was helpful somehow to you and I wish you the best of luck in your career. Anas Rayes

I hope that all your dreams and mine come true in 2008:tup:. Affectionately Anas Rayes
