  1. C is correct. A and B seem to be talking about "money" and not the "states". D is incorrect(for obvious reasons). C and E are saying same thing but E is wordy. P.S. I dont generally write explanations. So, I hope this one is correct.
  2. Is it E? "issue" refers to the application of the techniques. And E is the only sentence that satisfies this criteria.
  3. Is it C? That seems to be the least awkward sentence.
  4. Thanks. @Nazar - I am not the best person to explain strategies coz I did not follow any. I used to read the RCs very very carefully and then it was very easy to answer the questions. - Yes, the CRs are very similar to PowerPrep in their structure and skills they test -In maths, I encountered many inequalities in DS. The geometry questions test fundamentals. Garima
  5. Thank you all for those encouraging words. But the truth is I did not work hard. I completed only the verbal part from Kaplan Premiere. I did not even touch the Quant. I bought OG11 one week before the exam. I completed about 20 questions in each section. I gave PP tests 3 times. And, 2 tests from Kaplan. In fact, I took this GMAT appointment more as a diagnostic but then later started hoping for a better score. Moreover, my workload will be a tiny bit lesser in the next month. The economy is not at its best so I will have lesser work to manage and fewer people breathing down my neck. So the stress will be less and that means I can do other things when I am back home. Plus, working at an investment bank sort of deprives you of a social life. : ). So, I can manage to study more. I hope things go as planned. Thank you all so much. TM is indeed a great place.
  6. I was not surprised when I got this score, just a little disappointed. I got 710 consistently in powerprep but I was still hoping for a miracle score. Lol. I work at an investment bank in NY and that means I work 10-12 hrs a day. 9.5 on a good day. That leaves me with less than 1 hr every day after travelling, cooking, cleaning etc. On the weekends, I have to run errands for the house and call family members etc (yes, its a big deal). But I could still manage 4-5 hours on weekends (the ones when I did not have to go to office). In all I studied for 4-5 weeks. I have been on leave from the past 1 week and this week has been very important in my prep. I studied hard but not hard enough. But, I know I can do better than 710 and that is the reason I will be giving it again. Well, I am not the right person to tell what to do in GMAT but I can certainly tell you what NOT to do in GMAT because these are the mistakes I made. DON'TS 1. Don't take Quant lightly. I have strong quant fundamentals but when you are under a time pressure, you tend to make mistakes especially in DS questions. Practice. Moreover, I feel, the real GMAT Quant is much harder than as generally portrayed. 2. Don't be complacent about time While repeating the PP tests, when you encounter the repeats, mark a few of them wrong purposely and spend 2 minutes on each of them. I did not do that and in both Q and V, I had 10 minutes for last 10 questions. 3. Don’t take forever on the first few questions. It is good to be very sure about the first few questions but not at the cost of time. If your double checking the answers takes long then you will not have enough time for the last 10. 4. Don’t stress. I remember reading something many years ago. I think it was Jesse Owens biography. He said something like “an angry athlete never won an Olympic medal”. I stressed over AWA in Quant and over Quant in Verbal. I stressed about time. I stressed about the receptionist being loud. I stressed about my screen going blank and I being shifted to another comp. I stressed about everything I shouldn’t have. Will be more careful next time.
  7. Hi Sandeep, I really think that you deserved a good 700+. I have read your analyses in several threads and 680 is a shocker. But everyone has a bad day I guess. In fact, I am also in the same boat as yours. But as they say, you should always look for the silver lining. Maybe a 790-800 is in store for you and you would have to really work hard(er) to get that. Move on. Sit tight. Garima
  8. I am not sure if someone has already posted this. http://tambor.uk.tangozebra.com/tambor/c/715.mp3 Highlights: - Average GMAT score has been 530 since last 12 years!! - Ideal amount of preparation (7-10 weeks/120 hrs) - Best score vs Multiple Scores - Things monitored during the test including time spent on last questions - New technology in GMAT(to be rolled in Korea and India first) - Native english speakers vs non native speakers - Why is GMAT expensive? 9. Coolstruggler, you have written that: Stmt II – 3x > 9 or x Shouldn't this be x Thus, combining the two, we get, x>-4.5 and x So, x must be -4 (question says x is an integer) So, the answer is C
  10. I would say E. C and E seem to come closest to answer. C says that the traces are still found in the vaccine but does not help us to identify if that is the cause of mesothelioma. E, however, helps to form a relationship between the two.
