I found that writing notes is just a waste of time. Right now, I am trying to master the art of skimming. :)

OMG!! This is the main reason you are practicing... I do this for every questions I get wrong. There is no point in not doing. Otherwise you cant LEARN FROM YOUR MISTAKES (duh)

you seriously need only one book. the offical guide itself has 8 practice tests. when u are done with them, familliarize yourself with the questions because the testmakers repeat a lot... especially on writing. study the questions you got right AND wrong

THere is also Maximum SAT and Rocket Review which are supposed to be realy good. You can find both of them on Amazon

if u qualify for TEOFL, theres no point in taking SATs in the first place

that might be true but it also depends largely on the race. Dont mind me saying this but its ALOT easier for black/hispanic people to get scholorships than White/Asian

why would you have to take TOEFL if youre taking SAT?

the money you spent on those crap companies are better off bring spent on private tutors or self--study. Believe me, yuo wont learn anything there than you will by yourself

I have never taken these classes but their books are ok... if there werent alot of printing errors/mistakes in the test problems. As far as the course, I donno... but a lot of people who have been getting low scores told me that Princeton Review was really helpful.

yeah and I will start studying vocab as well. I hate this part of the SATs :( what are you doing to improve your scores?

LOL, I was kidding about those scores. Real scores M: 740 CR: 510 W: 570 Im a rising Junior. I know my CR/W scores suck

M: 470 Cr: 320 W: 340

well I am pretty good at the sentence completion part because it mostly deals with reasoning (except for the last questions with hard vocabulary) My main problem is the reading sections. I can do well if I read the passage carefully but I always run out of time.

I'm good at the math section but not so good at Critical Reading. To improve it I'm begining to read Scientific American and other magazines. What else can I do to improve my CR scores?

im going to take all i can. ACTs and SATs. U never know which one u will do better on :) as long as taking both test are free, I'm willing to try it :P

One thing that I dont understand is that.... say if you took sat three times.. the 1st time, you get 800 on math test and bomb other sections. second time, you get 800 on verbal part but bomb the other sections. third time, you get 800 on the writing part, but bomb the other sections. Is it true that you can send youre best scores on each sections to colleges, thus getting a perfect score??? :blush:
