Hi, I also got the same reply from Walmart. EPGEC is nothing but FPGEC. It's a some typing error. I have inquired with NABP regarding EPGEC. I think they have same reply for all foreign pharmacy graduates, no changes in wording.

Hi, I inquired with NABP, below is the reply I got: Thank you for your inquiry. National Association of Boards of Pharmacy® (NABP®) is not familiar with EPGEC. Perhaps, it refers to FPGEC - Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Examination Committee™ (FPGEC®) certification - which you have obviously applied for and are familiar with through NABP®.

I have FPGEC certificate but no visa. I have been waiting since August 2010 to start pharmacy internship. Hospitals, pharmacy chains all refused. They replied that they do not have H1-B visa sponsorship. I am getting this reply since last year; no change in words, sentence, grammar etc. I got lucky once with one of the pharmacy chain; they asked me to fill their some online form before they can arrange an interview for me. I was so much glad; however this happiness validity was of just few minutes. When I started filling the form, I came to know that without ssn form couldn't be submitted. I spoke with the concerned person but in vain. It took so many years to pass toefl ibt speaking. Now god forbids how many years it will take to get visa sponsorship. Those who are in US could do volunteering, but what about people who are not in US. How can they come to US and do volunteering without being paid? How is it possible? What about living cost? In some places foreign pharmacy degree/FPGEC is acceptable, but clearly mentioned that no visa sponsorship.

I have no way of knowing when, or even if, opportunities will become available; however, it is not likely that they will anytime in the foreseeable future. Nazia

Hi, Kindly submit your transcript in a sealed envelop, copy of FPGEC certificate along with the 4 page application form for pharmacy intern. After they find your pharmacy degree course appropriate Illinois pharmacy board will send you a letter allowing you to complete 1200 hours of clinical course. I hope this may help you. Nazia

Hello, I received a letter from Illinois board of pharmacy. I am writing in brief what they had mentioned: The board recommended that the pharmacy program of the University of Pune not be approved due to the failure of the program to meet the criteria for approval of pharmacy programs as outlined in...... However the program was found to be five years in length, thus applicants must pass a preliminary diagnostic examination, TSE & Toefl examinations, and complete a clinical course of instruction which is 1200 hours in length in order to qualify for NAPLEX and MPJE. The director approved the aforementioned. My question is this something to worry about. My pharmacy degree course was of four years which I had already mentioned on the form. What is this preliminary diagnostic exam, are they talking about FPGEE. Is this clinical course different from internship? One more doubt I have is that, is this document sufficient to apply for Illinois pharmacy internship jobs. Don't they provide deficiency letter or pharmacist intern license card? I have been working towards US pharmacist licensure since 2006. ETS took away my precious time. I feel really bad when most of job only needs US pharmacy graduates. I think new students who are just planning to start with FPGEE procedure should think twice. Instead take admission in US pharmacy course, because TOEFL ibt take most of the time. By this time you can obtain a US pharmacy degree or some higher qualification in English Language. I feel their is no guarantee that after passing TOEFL ibt you will get sponsorship.

Hi I have received a letter from Florida Board of Pharmacy, I guess it is a deficiency letter. They have returned FPGEE score report, but asked for a copy of social security card before they can approve pharmacy intern application. Nazia

Hello, Please help me I have received a letter from Florida Board of Pharmacy. They have stated that my application is incomplete because my application didn't have social security disclosure form. Is this a deficiency letter what most of the pharmacies asked for states where social security number is mandatory to be submitted. Or do I have to submit something like we submitted for Washington, Delware Boards for SSN? I also want to know is it possible to register as a pharmacy intern with Pennsylvania Board without a preceptor? I tried to call them but unable to reach the right person. I have been through Ohio pharmacy board website, in the application form social security number is asked. I am in India, how is it possible to get it. Moreover, I requested for a letter of deificiency from them, but they refused. Many pharmacies asked for this letter in order to get work as an intern with their organisation. I received a letter from NABP, the details are as follows: The foreign pharmacy graduate examination committee recently made amendments to the requirements for FPGEC certification, which includes changes to the accepted english language proficiency examination and what constitutes a valid test score location. Candidates who submit an application to the FPGEC Certification Program on or after April 1 2010: Must pass the TOEFL ibt as the sole english language proficiency examination. Score reports from paper based TOEFL and TSE will no longer be accepted for FPGEC certification. Must take the toefl ibt at an Ets test centre located within one of the Nabp member and associate member jurisdictions including the 50 united states, district of columbia, guam, puerto rico, virgin Islands, nine canadian provinces, two australian states and New Zealand. the Fpgec will no longer accept toefl ibt score report from International ETS test site locations. Must not take the toefl ibt at the Los Angelos, CA, ETS test centre located at 3540 Wilshire Boulevard. Score reports will not accepted from this test site location. Candidates who submitted an application prior to April 1 2010, will have until 30 June 2010 to succesfully complete the English language proficiency component of FPGEC certification as currently required. On June 30, 2010, all FPGEC candidates will be subject to the provision outlined above. To eliminate multiple trips for internationally located candidates, Nabp suggests that candidates try to schedule their toefl ibt on a date near to their scheduled foreign pharmacy graduate equivalency examination date. Currently, all FPGEC candidates must also take the FPGEE at the US test centre.
