rocky80
Does anybody know the forumla to calculate sum of consecative integers e.g sum of integers from 51 to 150. thanks the sum of first n natural nos. [ not integers ] = [n*(n+1)]/ 2 so u calculate sum of 1 to 150 then substract this with sum of 1 to 50.. it goes this way [150*(151)]/2 - [50*51]/2 :grad: [ if i am not wrong!]
een
Hello,raza5680! To my mind, you can calculate the sum of integers from 51 to 150 in such a way -We consider an arithmetic series consisting of n terms 51,52,53,....149,150. So S_n=(n*(a_1+a_n))/2 here n=100, a_1=51, a_n=150. Hope it is right. All the best! een
jinics
I know this Formula: For sum of an AP: S = n/2[2a+(n-1)d] where n= number of elements in the series d = common difference a= 1 first term of the series.
bscout
Guys, take a look in the Formulae Thread. You will find it very useful.
een
Hi,jinics! The formula for sum of an AP: S = n/2[2a_1+(n-1)d] is equal to S_n=(n*(a_1+a_n))/2. In this case a_1 equels 51. All the best! een
