A few tweekers for the wizards

Hello everyone,

This is my first post in this forum.Ive been practising for the toefl and these are a few of the questions which appeared in the exam which i took jussnow.These are the questions from the coaching material of a private institution.I would like to thank the wizards out there for answering for my queries in advance

 

Q1)Click on the sentence which describes physique of Laurentians in para 2 & 3 .

a)In para 2: Some info bout a tribe called Lamoka and then....The Lamoka people had narrow skulls,faces,and noses and were clearly related to the early Shell Mound people of the southeast...

In para 3: Some info bout the Laurentians and then "Their(Laurentians)skeletons show that the Laurentians differed drastically in physique from Lamokans.The Laurentians were a people of stocky build with broad heads,faces and noses.

 

The ans was given as

"The Lamoka people had narrow skulls,faces,and noses and were clearly related to the early Shell Mound people of the southeast"

 

but not

 

"Their(Laurentians)skeletons show that the Laurentians differed drastically in physique from Lamokans.The Laurentians were a people of stocky build with broad heads,faces and noses.

 

Can any one out there justify this?

Isolation and lack of congested urban areas gave the american colonies a deceided advantage in the matter of health and this explains their rapid development.

 

"THIS" in the passage refers to

Passage 3:(A part of it).Its about the role of farm women.

 

After husbands had plowed the farm,farm women planted their gardens.Housewives began by setting out onions and potatoes in early april,following up later that month by planting lettuce,beans parsnips,turnips and carrots in the garden,tomatoes and cabbages in window boxes indoors.When danger of late frosta had passed out,the seedlings were moved outside and set out along with May plantings of buckwheat and a garden of kitchen and medicinal herbs.

The Mormon Church, or Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints,was founded in NewYork in 1830's by Joseph Smith.Moromns live in a theocratic society.Everyone worked for the common good and,at first, each person's property was considered the common property of the church.

 

Q)The word 'founded' can be replaced with
