  1. First before I thank anyone, I am just glad that this S*** is over. Let me say this again. THIS S**** IS OVER!!:doh:;) 720 - was it worth it? I really really feel that I should have spent my half of the prep time elsewhere. My work schedule and GMAT prep time just made me crazy. I just feel that this (read GMAT) was not worth the time I slogged and paid attention to. I have prepared for two months (not continous) starting from Aug. My initial schedule was on Oct 19th which I postponed due to my score in Manhattan GMAT online test. A huge mistake! www.urch.com has been very helpful in my preparation process. Thanks everyone and especially phil57 for her wonderful answers. Kudos to Eric for this site. I still am not sure why www.urch.com is not a part of testmagic. What was the need to have www.urch.com instead of testmagic.com subdomain? My test experience: (during my official trip to India) AWA AWA was pretty simple. Nothing unusual about it. I used the template approach and then blasted the essays. Templates are available in clintonn's post though he modified a little (better). However, I started the templates given out by Piyush or someone else in the forum. Though it did not make any sense, I simply wrote the exact material in the template. The start of the issue template did not make much sense to me. MATH Except for unusually tough second problem (which I will not disclose) in Quant, I always felt that I was getting the problems from the bad (easy) lot. I was really not comfortable with the ease of the questions and at the break, I thought it was all over. The last problem was so trivial and I had 5 mins still on the clock. My powerprep experience lasted 30-35 mins before to the stipulated time. I am generally not careful and always made mistakes in gmatprep. My final score in gmatprep was 49 and I was extremely agitated and then made sure I will be extra careful during the real test. VERBAL Verbal started ok. I am generally strong in CR and SC but fare bad in RC. I studied many RCs during the prep and was always stumped by the questions. The first one was SC, then SC and then SC, CR... till I hit the seventh question and there it was. RC - my battle. I really felt I read it pretty easily. The passage was about some management approaches and I felt I did ok. My clock stated 53 and I was still on 10th question. I was doing very carefully as I knew that the first 15 questions matter most. I got another RC in 16th question and the clock was showing 41 on teh clock. Thats when I thought I need to buckle up and get to my usual powerprep pace (usually, I complete the test with 25 mins to spare). My SC rate is fast and soon I was looking at 12 to go with 17 mins on clock. I finished verbal with a minute to spare. After the exhaustive list of questions (yes, after the test and before the score), I was asked if the scores are to be reported. I finally told yes and kept my fingers crossed. There, I saw my number. My mind was not working after the test with the ear plugs plugged which really did not fit my ears. It still is not :hmm: I suggest that all prospective GMAT test takers do gmatprep NUMEROUS times. It is really not worth doing KAPLAN (590, 610, 640, 590) - after first week Manhattan GMAT - (590, 640 - did not do the other one) Kaplan (640 online) Scoretop - WORST OF ALL. I stopped after 10 questions. Horrible quality of questions. PLEASE SPARE YOURSELF FROM THESE TESTS. All of them are made by for-profit companies and they demote you by a lower score hoping you would join their classes. GMATPrep (at least 10 attempts - 690-760 depending on teh questions and my mood). Take as many GMATPrep tests as you can.
  2. I postponed my date for another three weeks after scoring 590 and 640 in the tests. These tests are harder, well time will tell. I have mine scheduled on 6th of this month..
  3. they are often green and striped, or have plenty of bumps and bruises, but they are - is second they required?
  4. A is wrong as it does not maintain parallelism E
  5. them in wrong? Is it rebulicans or the plight of the poor. Someone cannot infer after they made a statement, they will imply something with a statement. We are also talking about the plight of the poor (it)
  6. Yes you could achieve your goal. Just make sure you are not doing any careless mistakes and understand that these scores are nothing. I actually postponed my GMAT which was next week because of this. About online tests, there are plenty more. ScoreTop, 800Score, Gmatsets ( I do not recommend you doing at this point) BTW, where were you able to get princeton online cat tests? I have a book which says that access to cat is available online but am not able to find it. please help.
  7. I postponed my test date for another 3 weeks after getting 600 in my first manhattan gmat. I found the test in Quant to be difficult (I score 50-51 in gmat and powerprep) but scored only 43. As verbal is my concern, I was demoralized after seeing a 32 in the test. I have given Powerprep and Gmatprep and score generally from 680-730 depending on day. Please help me with a) SC I still make careless errors in Verbal (SC) though I am getting considerably better. My hit rate is around 80% and rest of the errors were because I overlooked or did not spend enough time. b) CR: I do good and answer most of the questions. Few careless mistakes but I guess I cannot avoid them C) RC: My hit rate is often less than 40%. I understand the passage well and feel that I am ready to take questions but get lost in the answers as most of them are so well framed that I often mistake for another. How do I avoid them? Time problems: What is the best time management method? I read 15th question-55 mins and 15-45mins somewhere. Where do I get Princeton CAT tests? The book I purchased did not come with CD and it referred to online site but could not find anything apart from the free test they give. I have Manhattan GMAT, Kaplan, GmatPrep and PP. How is 800Score and other CAT tests? Am I missing any of them?
  8. Gmatters: I am sure you will fare well next time. I really need to cross the 700 bridge as I simply cannot afford to spend more time. Where do I get VJJs? Thanks.
  9. I really am not sure how I am doing. The first score on PP was 680 followed by GMATPrep 680 and then again 660 on GMATPrep. Timing was major problem with GMAT Prep1 for me. RC is the toughest for me but am doing better as I was actually 5 mins positive on the latter two tests. I need to go through OG and work through the problems. I have skimmed through half of verbal at one point and plan to take it soon. I am aiming for 720 least.
