  1. Thank you! Do you know if this is generally true with non-MBA programs as well?
  2. I applied to schools A and B and got into A which is the school I plan to attend. B is pending because they're waiting for me to do a phone interview. Sould I go through the phone interview just to complete the process or sould I tell them that I've already planned to attend A and ask them to withdraw my application and cancel the interview? Which action is more appropriate? Thanks!
  3. Crazy but interesting - you're giving up a job that most people are getting an MBA for! Personally, I don't believe that MBA can really teach one to be an entrepreneur. Are you sure you can't just start a business without the degree? In my opinion, what you will learn in two years by doing might be far more valuable than by theory... But then, you're getting the HBS branding and network, which i hope are worth $600,000 :)
  4. Just curious...are you really going to quit your job as a "35 year old senior executive at a investment banking firm," making gazillion dollars already (I assume), for a full-time program?
  5. Hi David, I have a question re. letter of rec. I work with my brother-in-law. He has a business set up in the way such that he refers clients to me and I work with the clients directly on one part of the project while he works on another. He is techincally my supervisor. I'm thinking of asking him for a letter of rec, but i'm afraid that the Adcom will give less credibility to such letter because we're related even though I'll waive my right to read. Should I address this relationship somewhere? If so where? Please help. At this point I don't have anyone else to ask for a letter. Thanks!
  6. Sweetpie: You should uninstall GMATPREP (meaning you need to uninstall the software and delete the folder) and then re-install from the exe. Each time you do that, you'll get some new questions. Do that a few times. I wouldn't take anything else at this point but GMATPREP. vahid: I don't know how many questions you can miss to get 40. Sorry. But if you're weak in verbal, you should start by working on the problems from OG11 and OGVerbal and trying to understand the explanations. Then you move onto 1000SC (very helpful), 1000CR and the RC documents as I suggested in my previous post. The key is diligence. My initial verbal score was in the 20s! Madhukar.Ashok: OG11 and GMATPREP = a good start. Also look for OG Verbal. Definitely check out Clintonn's thread. He has tons of stuff. For quant, I believe you should work on OG11 quickly and then move onto the sets. Clintonn has started a thread discussing problems from the sets. Look for it.
  7. I don't remember where i read that... but "too many" probably means taking it 5 to 6 times within a year. I didn't know it's only his second attempt. So my bad. hehe :). I thought when he said 490->540->700>740, he meant this will be his fifth time.
  8. Good luck! Mike, I heard it's not good to take it too many times. Are you worried about that at all?
  9. LSAT has logical games which are similar to math questions and which have to be solved under timed condition too. Are those not difficult for you? Maybe you should give GMAT another try. Your performance on quant could be a result of psychological stress. Before you change, you must ask yourself whether you really want to be a lawyer. Just my 2 cents.
  10. My opinion is that if you intend to work in southern california, then yes.
  11. Yes. I do. I used to work near Santa Clara, nice area! I heard if you're either starting out or changing your career then full-time. If you intend to stay in the same industry or work for the same company, then part-time. Full-time takes 2 years but it provides you with greater network opportunities. Part-time takes around 3 years, your classmates tend to be very busy (hence less network opportunities) but you get to keep your job. I'm also debating btw f-t and p-t. Have to hurry up though b/c the deadlines are approaching.
