hey guys I got my IELTS results : overall band score : 8.5 Listening 9 reading 8.5 essay 8 talking 8 guys could u guys tell me how good a score this is? coz I really have no clue! I am mainly concentrating on US for my Masters in Electrical engineering (Given my GRE n TOEFL already) But have kept Australia as my 2nd choice, but havent got any Info on Australia have just given the exam as a couple of ppl advised me 2 do so be4hand. So i just need to know if I can apply to he really top universities in Australia ....plz do reply guys

hey Bond are u sure bout this formula for GPA conversion?? ....(%/80) *4 where did u get t hat from ? coz no one has been able 2 tell me exactly how GPA is calculated...

GUYS for the quant section like i said b4 that the timing is dammn important. apart frm that the out of the way Qs were those on mean, median , mode as well as standard deviation!!!! I would suggest that u guys do the basics of these and practice a few sums. Apart frm that the stuff is quite the same.... sorry 2 tell u this but a frnd of mine got a Q on Quartile curve!!!!!(dont even ask me what that is) so ... u never know!!

hey Mech! congo on the score I 2 got a 1400 (770 Q n 630 V(ouch..)) what r u trying for anyways? course? i am applying for fall 06 for MS inn electrical engg.(am in my 4 th yr engg presently) I dont think u should be retaking it. Score is sufficient(but then again i dont know ur stream n expected colleges)

guys in this context I may seem a bit .(Ahem..) experienced than u, Well I gave my GRE on the 16 thof aug. (india bobmay) got a 1400(770-V,630Q(ouch..!)) anyways quite "decent" for me. hey u guys regarding the verbal section: like the recent trend that is going on i can tell u that the words r all simple and well.. easy if u can say so. No high -funda wods n stuff like that. But the catch is ,the answer options r coming 2 2 close 2 choose frm. At the end of it u will know all th eword sin the Q( Q as well as ans options) but the elimination of the answers is gonna pose the problem. For the maths part : dont worry bout the level of difficulty of the probs..... the only prob is the completion of the Q,s in time!! I had 2 finish my last 10Q, in quant within 12 min.!! So I would advise u guys 2 practise the timing of the problems rather than practising tougher probs. Hey guys at the end of it all just relax n dont break a sweat out there !!!!

Apart for the 1st yrs tuition what bout the 2nd years tuition? in what form do I need 2 show that?n if i get some sort of aid do I still have 2 show the entire amount? I have heard that the more money u show to the VISA officer the easier it is for u to get the VISA. In my case I will only be able 2 show the 2 teras Tuition n living in liquid.. nothing more than that. Does that mean I have a lesser chance of getting the VISA?

Hi guys, I recently gave my GRE n TOEFL. GRE(1400)[770Q,630V] TOEFL(230-287) I wanted to know bout the amount of finance that i need would need 2 show for the VISA. If my Tuition/year comes 2 $17,000 how much would i need 2 show.:hmm: I don't know exactly how much the living would cost, but as a rough approximate could u guys give me an idea. Also if i get any sort of aid do i still need 2 show the entire Tuition amount irrespective of the aid? Also I have heard that the 1st years tuition must be shown in liquid cash, but what bout the 2 nd year? n also I have heard that the more money u show, the more is the chance of getting the H1 VISA , which I wont be able 2 show apart for as much as the Tuitin fees demand. So do I have a higher chance of VISA rejection? I need an instant reply on this coz my applying for universities depends on this!!:( Thanx guys. Sudeep.

Currently doing my B.E.( in the 4th yr) in Electronics Engg from Bombay University. Avg:-61% How much GPA would that be? Also importantly wanna know, how much cash r u supposed 2 show for the VISA application process?
