  1. [clap] Congrats on that twe score.. what was the esay abt..?
  2. Hi santana, well i thought to write an opposite thought, may be readers may rate mine too. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Children should begin learning a foreign language as soon as they start school. Use specific reasons and examples to support your position. Children should first learn their mother language then priority should be given to other languages. In my school, an English Medium school, I was taught English and my native language together. When children are young and new to the world around them, they learn things better. In this case, learning a foreign language, depends on the school syllabi or the parents' insistence. In general, it is the former that dictates the route a child takes towards learning a language. In my opinion, children must learn their native language first. The more they learn their native language, the better they will grasp the technicalities of that language. Foreign anguage can be taught later. For example, in my area certain local schools introduce the children to English language at age 8, since its knowledge has become very important in today's perspective of job market and career. Children should not be introduced to a foreign language before they learn their native language upto the elementary level. In addition, children learn better when they are taught in their native language. Children explore their surroundings and learn to converse with eople around them who speak in native language. For example, if a child would like to drink water or attend to the call of nature, he would ask his parents in , their, language and not in a foreign language. Hence children must be introduced to a foreign language later on in school. Furthermore, I think that children can be taught a foreign language later in school because it is then they could be made to realise that to get good opportunities, knowledge of such a foreign language is essential. Addition of the foreign language in the school syllabi would then make a student learn it and benefit with the view that such a foreign language would new vistas and avenues of emplyment for the child in future. All along I do not agree that children should be taught a foreign language as soon they start school. The child must learn his native language first, become familiar with its usage in daily life and then learn a foreign language at the level, prescribed by the school board. The responsibility, thus, depends upon the school board commitee that they frame the school syllabi that introduces the children to a foreign language at level when these children reach the correct age.
  3. HI MARUSHA, i READ UR ESSAY AND THOUGHT TO WRITE AN OPOSITE THOUGHT ON IT. AS FAR AS RATING IS CONCERNED U R A GOOD WRITER I would RATE U 4.5-5.5 . Some people spend their entire lives in one place. Others move a number of times throughout their lives, looking for a better job, house, community, or even climate. Which do you prefer? People move to different places depending upon the conditions, compulsions or opportunities. If a person gets a good environment and livelihood, who would leave that place ? For example, if someone owns a flourishing business, where ample oppotunities of growth and a healthy culture exist, he will not leave the place. So the businessman is willing to spens his entire life at that place. When someone grows from childhood to adulthood, he would definitely love to live in a place where his future seems secured. This would ensure protection and opportunities. I have grown up at an industrial region, where my father is an engineer. The facilities and oportunities that I have received have helped me to develop academically. So I would like to live and work at such a place. The feelings of bonding are sometimes strong enough for someone to resist leaving his loved place. A man who has spent most of his life at a place, where he and his children grew up and where his kin are buried, a strong relationship has bonded between him the place, which do not allow him to leave that place. When there was a division in my father's family over property, he chose to stay at this place, our home, than leave it. This was our ancestral home, and he did leave it. So sometimes, people do not leave a place for reasons beyond opportunities. Even though , someone might get a good-salaried job elsewhere, or conditions like tensions at a particular area, may make one leave that place temporarily, but a person cannot stay away from his motherland. His heart and soul are rooted at that palce where he got the best moments of his lifetime. He would die but not leave that place. He cannot think of a place other than it. [ I WROTE THIS ESSAY IN 30 MINS. AND DO NOT EXPECT MORE THAN 4.5, BUT IT WAS A GOOD TRY .]
  4. Some people think government should spend as much money as possible exploring outer space. Other people disagree and think that goverment should spend this money for our basic needs on Earth. Which of these two opinions do you agree with? From my viewpoint, I am in favor of the government spending as much money as possible exploring outer space. The Americans and Soviets pioneered the space missions giving us resources that have greatly enhanced our lives. The NASA, for example, instituted by the government of U.S.A., for space exploration and research, with its indelible effort and support from private industries, transferred technology to the international marketplace. Hundreds of everyday products can be traced back to the space mission, including cordless electrical tools, airtight packaging, water purification systems, and even scratch coding for eyeglasses. In addition, many advances in medical technology can be traced back to the NASA laboratory, where, first used to detect flaws in spacecraft, ultrasound is now standard equipment in almost every hospital for diagnosis and assessment of injuries and disease. Furthermore, equipment first used by NASA to transmit images from space to earth is used to assist in cardiac imaging and lasers first used to test satellites, are now used in surgical procedures under the skin implants for continuous infusion of drugs. Small pacemakers to regulate the heart were originally designed to monitor the physical condition of astronauts in space. Finally, with the help of images that were obtained during space missions and NASA technology, archaeologists have been able to explore the earth, cities lost under desert sands have been located and rediscovered and the sea floor has been mapped using photographs from outer space. Thus, it becomes clear, that continuous research mounted by government-funded space organizations might one-day provide tools and facilities that improve the world as a better place to live in.
