  2. in 1st attempt i got 720 in quant, in 2nd i got 780 and finally, in 3rd i got 800!!!!!!
  3. HI EVERYBODY, this was the 3rd time that i gave gre and still scored only 1450. but i'm satisfied. in my 1st attempt i got a total of 1280 n' in the 2nd the score actually dropped to 1160. nyways, there are loads of things that i want to share. firstly, b4 i forget i want to post the questions that i got, in English all the words were from barrons like, dessicated, mollify, fable:tale, ditty:song, vititate:quality. gosh!! can't recall any more i'll post more if i'm able to recall. then, maths this time seemed pretty easy, there was no question on P&C and probability, loads of question on pythagoras theorem i think there were 4 questions related to it. and D.I was pretty simple. Q1. how many no.s r there b/w 10 and 43 which when divided by 7 give 5 as the remainder? A1. 4 Q2. in '94 the mean and median salary of the employees was the same but in '95 the highest salary of '94 increases by 20000 and we had to compare b/w colA: median salary of '95 colB: mean salary of '95 A2. B Q3. a figure of kite was given with the length of it's three sides and the length of the longer diagonal till were it bisects the smaller diagonal was also given and we were asked to calculate the lenght of the 4th side. A3. IT WAS SIMPLE BUT HAD TO APPLY PYTHAGORAS THEOREM THRICE. Q4. y= 4x^2 + 5x + 7 then for what value of x will the value of y be even in all cases. A. FOR ALL x = even B. FOR ALL X = ODD C. FOR ALL X>0 D. FOR ALL X E. NONE Q5. X IS ANY NO. B/W 1 TO100 THEN FOR WHICH OF THE FOLLOWING WILL THE S.D FOR Y BE GREATEST?? A. X=Y B. Y=X/2 + 20 C. Y= X/3 + 30 D. Y= 2X- 30 E. Y = 3X + 50 I'M NOT SURE ABOUT THE ANSWER?? Q6. 0 A. X^2 B. X^3 C. X^5 CAN'T RECALL THE OTHER OPTIONS. I REMEMBER SOME MORE BUT I'LL POST THEM LATTER. I WANT TO THANK ALL TMians FOR THERE POSTS.
  4. colA: 5C1*4C1*2C1/11C3 colB: 20 therefore colb is greater
  5. for the first question: since there r 5 even and 5 odd no.s therefore selecting one even and one odd will give us:- 5C1 * 5C1 = 25
  6. congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! gr8 score. do u remmember any questions???? if u do plz share............all the best for ur admissions............
  7. 50 pounds??? is it correct?
  8. hi, even i'm applying for economic courses to uk. but my gre went really bad V:560, Q:720. so,i'll give it again. which all universities r u applying to n' what courses???? do u have any idea whether they take the recent score or avg the two?????
  9. A.M means airthmetic mean. and ans to question 3 is D. thanx a lot for ur encouragement. btw when r u planning to give ur gre????
  10. hi, i gave my gre on 13th n' it went really bad (both quant n' verbal). i got a total of 1280, v:560 q:720. w/i 15 days i'm planning to give it again. what went wrong was time mgmt quant was lenghty n' tricky too. though i'm good at maths but spoiled my paper due unproper time mgmt. 15 questions were left n' less than half the time. after quant i had verbal section but since quant went bad i cud not concentrate on the verbal section though it was comparatively easy from what we had done in power prep. well! i remmenber few questions which i woud like to share with u people. there was probability question though easy but lang was really twisted so do try those kind of questions. then there was another question in which 5 cocentric circles were given n' it was given that the radius of the 1st circle is 2. and area between 2 circles is equal to the area of the smaller circle and we had to find the radius of the largest circle. i wasted a lot of time on this one so do try it before going. ans according to me 8. x>0 , x ,x^2,x^3 colA: product of A.M and median of these no.s colB: sum of these three no.s a=n+1/2 , b= n-1/2 colA: (-2)^a colB: (-2)^b in verbal though the words were general but there were non barrons words too. rigidity, valiant, quitodian, seaweed:aquatic are the few words that i can recall.
