Hai Rammy, I have a query about this visa extension.What happens if someone did not pass the naplex exam within 1 year and in Florida state ,internship is for 2300 hrs that means it will take almost 1 year and 2 months to complete(40hrs a week).So if we don't pass the exam,will the visa be revoked or can the visa be extended?.Please reply. Thank you Hi, Nothing to worry about that, your lawyer has to prove that you need more than a year to complete 2300 hours of internship, it is practically impossible to finish those hours with in one year by working 40 hours a week. Just when the lawyer applys for extension your recent pay stubs and intern hours finished should be submitted as evidence. Hope this would help you.

Well Friends for Pharmacy Interns USCIS grant approval for one year, once one gets the Pharmacist License, extension of approval for three years can be done, so it is not a big deal, just a formality. So don't worry and enjoy your moments....Rammy

Hi Knok, The attachment is not opening, it's showing some error message, can you please attach the file again. In the letter we can also mention that scores of 24 to 27 carry same proficiency, why not score of 24 for certification instead 26? It also should be mentioned in this letter to NABP. I have taken print out of this page before ETS changes it. Rammy

Hi Friends, I completely agree with emac, because we have to convey a message to NABP that we all have good communication skills and we will do well in pharmacy environment. We should not dilute our complaint by writing too much negative things about ETS. Hi Friends, Let me remind you again, its ETS that sets the score requirements, not NABP. NABP believes whatever ETS presents. We need press more on allowing alternative exam for speaking and reduce the speaking section score requirement to 24 or 23. We shouldn't mention much about other things. Our criticism shoud be constructive and should make NABP to think that TOEFL iBT is not a fair test. I feel by mentioning too much about testing environment, we are giving too many excuses to NABP. It is my personal opinion, but I will definitely other fellow foreign pharmacists. Rammy

Hi Knok and friends, I think all of you know the scoring criteria of ETS for TOEFL iBT speaking, however I am posting the scoring method below. 4 is the high level score according to ETS. To score 26 in TOEFL iBT speaking test takers should get 20/24 for 6 questions each of highest score 4(4*6=24), which is very high for any standards. One more point in the rubrics of ETS test takers won't get score of 25, they may get either 24 or 26. Here is the tricky part, ETS has set score of 26 in speaking section as good communication skills and NABP believes this. To get scores of 26, test takers should get high level score(4) in two questions and fair level scores(3) in remaining 4 questions, which makes total score 20/24, 20/6=3.3 that equivalent to 26/30 This is the rating method of ETS 4+3=3.5(GOOD) 4+3=3.5(GOOD) 4+3=3.5(GOOD) TOTAL 21/24 = 3.5 = 27/30 4+3 = 3.5 (GOOD) 4+3=3.5(GOOD) 3+3(FAIR) TOTAL 20/24 = 3.3 = 26/30 4+3 = 3.5(GOOD) 3+3=3(FAIR) 3+3(FAIR) TOTAL 19/24 = 3.1 = 24/30 3+3 = 3 (FAIR) 3+3=3(FAIR) 3+3(FAIR) TOTAL 18/24 = 3.0 = 23/30 Here is the link from ETS website that reports last year scores and percentiles for score of 24 in speaking TOEFL® Test and Score Data Summary for TOEFL Internet-Based Test: September 2005-December 2006 Test Data http://www.ets.org/Media/Research/pdf/TOEFL-SUM-0506-iBT.pdf I remember an ESL teacher who attends ETS workshops and member of ETS training telling me that 26 in TOEFL iBT is equivalent to 55 in TSE, but ETS differes its opinion. Hi Knok, I read about explanation given to you by ETS representative about change of scores after rescoring. We have to mention that in the letter so that we can argue that rating is not uniform/standardized as scores change from rater to rater. Hi Friends, Yes as rpt2be mentioned we need to score 20/24 to get 26/30. We need to score 4 atleast in 2 questions and 3 in remaining 4 questions, which I feel is hard. It is explained in converting rubics in ETS website. We have to be lucky to get 4 in two questions. We have to practice and hope. All the best.

Hi Carmen2006, it not NABP which has set the scores, its ETS. ETS says 21 in reading, 21 listening, 26 speaking and 24 in writing are high scores and NABP accepted. No one in NABP check what is this test, how it is conducted, how it is scored. They beleive ETS because they both are business partners and we are victims. So pray GOD and practice....All the best. Hi Friends, Today I registered for TOEFL iBT and practiced free test on ETS website. In the speaking section, I don't understand what they are expecting from test takers. How can one listen some new concept and reproduce it accurately with in 20 sec and read and listen a lecture reproduce it with 30 sec. Its bit hard bcause I need 26 in speaking for my licence. God knows why don't NABP accepts IELTS score or some other scores and sticking with ETS. God help us. Can someone give some suggestions to get good score in speaking. Thanks in advance. Rammy

Hi Friends, ETS has cancelled TOEFL iBT on 29th April in Toronro, Canada. When exam takers went in the morning to the exam centre they found that the exam was cancelled and rescheduled to July 29th. Reason, there was problem with the server. What a great organ organization? Now test takers have to wait for three more months to take exam because no dates are available. Hi Folks, Had anybody given TSE at Windsor test center? If so pls throw some light, how is test centre, like how many people in a room at the test time and is it digital recording or tape recording? Hi All, I am new to this group and find you people are great. You are helping each other. But the sad part is still we are not able to clear TSE(most of us). I gave this exam four times and if I scale my performance, I don't know why I got 45 in November, because that was the worst performance I have given and I tought I would get 40 or less in November TSE:mad: . I don't understand the criteria of rating of TSE. So pls some one suggest me how the ETS rate TSE? Thanks in advance. Rammy
