i20 expiration - i mean how we have a date in I-20.. The last date till which you are expected to complete your studies.. hmm for example, for UCLA.. my MBA is from Sept 12th, 2008 to June 15th, 2010.

Thanks -so you are saying, I can enter US if my passport is valid for more than 6 months. Expiraion date of I-20 is not an issue. THANKYOU!
-
My passport is valid for more than a year and Indian embassy in Nepal will not renew my passport when it is still valid for a year. FYI : I am an Indian resident living in Nepal. I was on F1 and H1-B before and all my visa has been issued from Nepal itself.

I am very confused regarding my passport and visa expiration issue: I have read two different things on the validity of my passport: I have read that your passport needs to be valid for 6 months beyond your expected stay in us. Which is 2010 for me because I am going for my MBA. And somewhere it says that your passport needs to be valid for 6 months at the time of your visa interview.. I am not sure which one is right? My passport is valid for one more year that is till 2009 so it can't be renewed right now. What should I do?? Did anyone face any similar problem..

Thanks!!

thanks a lot.. What do you mean by S&T.. Sales and Trading?? I have been trying to get into the business side for a stock brokerage firm. My problem is that I am on H1 B visa and my visa is sponsored for IT function. Its really hard for me to find a sponsor for something other than IT especially since I graduated from a small state university. I have had instances where employers were like, you are a perfect fit but than they found someone who didn't need a sponsorship.. In my current company they have promised me they will let me to go to business side if I make their outsourcing successful and that doesnt seem to happen for atleast 4 months.. Its hard being Int'l.. If it were not for visa constraints, I'd have moved to business side of tech (marketing/sales) long time ago.. Can you suggest some schools that I have a decent shot at?

David, Thanks for such a wonderful service. I am in the similar boat like the dozen others and am not sure what to do.. May be you can help.. Here is my info: Started the whole journey last year and then decided I am better off waiting for one more year before starting Business school and here I am! Background: Born in small village in India. Moved to Nepal when I was a yr old. Did all my schooling in Nepal. I come from a very poor family and no one is educated so me completing high school was a big deal. (My dad’s studied the highest-8th grade). When I was starting my high school, dad started his own business and wanted me to be part of it. I helped him out for 2 yrs and then decided I need to study more. I wanted to get at least a college degree. Apart from working for my dad I used to work in small software firm in Nepal (ITNTI) as an administrative assistant. This is where I was introduced to computers and was fascinated by it. I decided I wanted to study further in computers but my family wanted me to look after the family business. I fought hard and when my dad didn’t give in, I pretty much got kicked out of the house. I got my visa, had saved enough money for my first semester and started my college. Supported myself throughout collge. In my second yr. In college I went to China with my dad for a major expansion of his business. He has moved from selling on the streets with me to managing 6 stores and an office in China. Education and Work Experience: Graduated with a 3.94 GPA from State University(Minnesota) at age of 20. Worked throughout the college and have held more than 15 jobs during college life. Got my internship at a big law firm and thus a full time job. Got promoted once within these 2 yrs(usual 5 yrs) and got interested in Business side of techonology. After getting tired to find something that would fit my professional needs, I decided to sell everything in MN and move to NYC. Now I work at Wall St in a QA dept. but really close to the Sales team and going to be joining the business side soon. 4.5 yrs of work experience before I get in the school. Community Involvement: PLENTY! From President to Social chair of various org group. Involved in couple of Non profit.. Have been on Executive board etc. Why I want my MBA or what do I want from my MBA? I want to do my MBA in International Business. I believe Techonology is the support function for business but not business itself. Hence, the business side of Technology is what excites me!! Intl Business Mgmt with Technology focus. GMAT: Q50, V40 - 740 Age: 25 Work Exp : 4.5 yrs full time Target schools: Haas, UCLA, and may be eveennnn Stanford.. Can you help me add to this list. Georgetown seems to be a good fit when I think of In't Business and Management.. Am I aiming too high?? My safety schools ??and my weaknesses that I would need to address the most? Thanks again

hmm. i dont like this.. i got 47(82 percentile)Q and 35(76 percentile) V... ended up with 660.. life a *****!! -
yes.. you are rightt.. I was dejected for a bit but I am not going to let this dissapoint me. I am going to work much harder and next time I am gonna beat the beast.. btw. congratulations on your superb effort!
-
sorry.. was very dissapointed.. so didn't post.. I got a mere 660 :(
-
April 10th is way too close.. SCARY!
-
Got 690 on my second GMATPrep that I took this weekend.. Not happy with the score but was distracted during my Math section when the virus scan started and slowed everything down :(.. I am planning to uninstall and install my GMATPrep's and take two tests this weekend.. I really want to cross that 700 mark!!.. For some reason I find Kaplan a lot easier than GMATPrep's.. I wish it was the other way round
-
An update.. took my GMAT Ultimate practice test from Kaplan.. got a 700.. not bad.. but nothing to be proud of.. Math was easier compared to the GMATPrep.. Need to work hard.. very hard.. in next 2 weeks.. April 10th is the DDay... ..
-
lesson learnt!!
-
so.. you have gotten 48 in Verbal.. BRAVO!!!.. you dont need to worry then.. Its fools like me, who need to get their act straight and start studying.. I am giving one more GMATPrep this weekend.. Lets see where does that take me
-
"constellation of small islands", so I think we need "it"..
-
Okay.. good place to vent.. I started off by giving Kaplan.. scored 690, 680, 610, and 670.. not bad for Kaplan scores.. I was getting confident that I will score good on GMAT.. So, last week I took GMATPrep.. To my horror some of the questions were really tough and.. I scored only 640.. People say that, GMATPrep reflects your score on GMAT, than I have lot of work to do. There are hoards of people who score 720 and above on GMATPrep.. 640 It seems that Quant is much harder and though I have good basics in Quant, I was having a hard time figuring out few questions..I got 12 quant questions wrong, my score in verbal was 47.. I got 13 Verbal questions wrong and my score in verbal was 29.. I dont know why.. As much as I dont want to believe that GMAT is about luck, I can't help but am forced to think like that. You can get hard questions right and GMAT might not even take that into consideration.

April 10th is my DDAY.. lalalalala..m scared!!!!
-
I dont think "it" has a clear referrent in A. I'd go for D..
-
I agree with use of past participle.. .but I think we need "which" too.. IMO, A
-
I would like to differ. m-3 is an even integer.. so what if m = 1.. then, m-3 = -2 which is still an even integer.. (Negative)
