  1. Thanks a lot my friend : jigsai22. Any suggestion for material other than Official guide, manhattan, kaplan premier. CR bible. I have almost read all of them. but you are right that I am not yet comfortable in doing my RC in first read , same with SC and CR. what would you say.
  2. Jigsai22, Thanks for suggestion. I believe that your pint is to decipher the argument and get the RC well comprehended. Do you take note while reading. what do you do while solving RC and CR questions. Please describe from the perspective of time management as well as getting them correct.
  3. What kind of strategy you followed for V: did you plan to solve all the questions and were you able to do that. How was your level of attention .Had you been provided with Ve first and Q in last would that have helped you. man!! this verbal is defeting my goal. Lat month I appeared for GMAT and got : Q:48, V:24 ( I was bogged down in VE ) and reached till Q 32 in Verbal and then gussed the rest.
  4. You got excellent in Quant. Were you be able to solve all 37 questions. Please explain what happened with you in Verbal...How could you avoid that . I am in the same boat . My last month GMAT score : 580 : Q:48 , V:24
  5. Hi "andspeed" I can feel your problem. I am in the same boat. last month I got :580 Q-48 , V-24 , My experience: I solved Quant questions till 32 and then ran out of time, so I just made a random guess for rest of them. In Verbal I was completely bogged down. It was partly because of tiredness , partly beacuse of anxiety and partly becuase of fear of failure and moreover did not have a balanced speed verses accuracy ratio. On paper based I feel I am good but as you said when the complexity increases It starts eating my time and pushes me down on accuracy level. I know my weekness but don't know how to erradicate them. " Incease both the speed and accuracy , but how???? "
  6. Any advice for improving VE score. I am not able to finish the test in given time. I become too engrossed in the questions and feel as if I am lost after sometime. However, at home on paper based test(Peterson) I am able to get 26 correct out of 41. .. your thoughts..
  7. 580-gmat : VE:24 Q: 48 I could only solve first 24 question and randomly guessed the rest . It happened because of time contrain.
  8. would you mind sharing that how many question you have attempted in VE with full attention the way you did in math. Did you face time constarint. what stategy you had have
  9. I took GMAT on 10th May2010 and got the score: 580. I need help to improve my verbal. However I am done with all those major books. I feel good and stay above 80% in SC . 70% in CR and 70% in RC. But my speed and acuracy is causing a lot of problem. I am from India and have been taught in English but this English fear factor is buckling me so far very viciously. Please Help.......I am going to write this test just after 40 days. How can I take my Ve score to SS:35 and above
  10. Out of A/C I will go with "C" Reason: so X as Y : here Y should be subject but in above mentioned sentence "to constitute what one scholar calls an artificial face" the emboldened part in not playing the role of subject. Your thoughts???
  11. I will go with "E" Clue: value(singular subject) --> is "as much as" --- They --> corporations (plural)
  12. Congratulation! Cold you please send those tests to me through the following Email-Id chatarshal@hotmail.com Thanks a lot
  13. WoW! What a great achievement !!!! Congratulation!
  14. I will go with "D" Clue: A) seen layers of sediment in the gaping canyon, with different colors that mark(using "that" is not clear it may refer to different color or gaping canyon. Intention is to curmvent the entire clause) (B) see layers of sediment in the gaping canyon, whose different colors mark(verb see ...not fit with the "have see" © been seeing layers of sediment in the gaping canyon, whose different colors are markers of ( been seeing ..... not welcomed by CCC rule ) (D) been able to see layers of sediment in the gaping canyon, with different colors marking( the word marking circumvent the entire preceding clause and that is what we want) (E) seen layers of sediment in the gaping canyon, marking by different colors ( marking by different colors ......awkward to use) I request Bob to discuss this senario
  15. I will go with "D" Clue: parallelism: verb parallelism provides ...., gives ...., and encourages .......
  16. Out of A and D I will go with "A" Clue : x is required for survival y ,required to survive, z Please discuss
  17. I would go with the 1st option.
  18. I will go with "E" Clue: A&B - No ; because "it" could refer the book or women as well first one .....second one : so not parallell in that way
  19. Out of "A", "B" and "E" I will go with "E Clue: aimed at ---> does it not suggests that the policy is not aiming anymore ; We don't need change in tense so "E" suits the best
