  1. Hi friends, Firstly CONGRATS.......to everyone who cleared the exam. I too passed out the exam. For those who c'ld not do it.........Pl.....don't worry .U got another chance.Try to work hard n prepare well for the exam.To tell u the truth,it's not really hard. I cleared my toefl n tse too.I have a peculiar problem here.I gave my toefl exam in 2005.Though I requested the ETS to report my score to the NABP,that didn't happen.I sent so many mails to the ETS but nothing worked out.Can u please suggest some solution for this?Hope someone w'ld reply ASAP.Thanks a lot.
  2. Hey kingtu, I've not come across these type of problems. But these calculations do not need any formula. Don't worry u can easily do it:) Thx

    c'ld u pl... explain me 7 & 8 que's? why ephedra?i guess it's thyme. pl...clarify the same.thanx
  4. Step 1:calculate the no. of drops in 100ml of the solution 1ml-------- 20 drops 100ml------? =2000 drops Step 2:calculate the time taken for the infusion of 1ml of the infusion order 100ml------------ 720 min(12*60) 1ml--------------- ? =7.2 min since IV set delivers 20 drops/cc, 20 drops--------- 7.2 min(notice that 1ml contains 20 drops) 1 drop--------? =1*7.2/20 = 2.77drops/min 2)Step 1:calculate the no. of drops in 500 cc of D5W solution 1ml of D5W solution contains 0.05gm of dextrose since IV set delivers 15 drops/cc, 0.05gm = 15 drops 500ml of D5W solution contains 25gm of dextrose so.....the no. of drops in 500ml of D5W solution is 25*15/.05=7500 drops Step 2:calculate the time taken for the infusion of 7500 drops It's given that the flow rate of the solution is 20 drops/min so.........calculate the time taken for the infusion of 7500 drops 20 drops------- 1 min 7200 drops-------? =7500/20= 375min=375/60=6.25hrs Hope it's clear.Thx

Hey, I agree with kpharama's answers. but for the 2nd i think it's potassium. If i'm wrong can u pl...explain why it's P? For the last question........i need explanation pl............ Thx
  6. I totally agree with you.
  7. HEY, Right now i can think of only one adv. of dicloxacillin over cloxacilli. Dicloxacillin results in twice the blood levels of equivalent doses of cloxacillin. For the 2nd question, i'ld pick up Cytochrome oxidase. I'm not sure about the 3rd que.But my guess is THYME(followed elimination method):) curious to know............

    Message for kingtu

Message for kingtu hey king, Look...the question says that the price has been decreased from 4.20 to 3.99 so.....we gotta calculate the % change in the price. For this ............ 4.20(original price) - 3.99(changed price)=0.21 so.......the change for 4.20 is 0.20 since we have to calculate the % change in the price, for 100-----------? In simple one step........ 4.20------>0.21 100--------->? X=o.21*100/4.20=5 2- % change in the Q(Notice that the quantity has been increased from 40 to 60 not from 60 to 40.so 40 is the original price) change of Q=60-40=20 40----->20 100----->? =20*100/40 =50 E=% CHANGE IN Q/% CHANGE IN P =50/5=10 Hope it's clear king.Need more clarification,pl....lemme knw. bye
  9. Hey, U solved the problem in a right way.But..........the NaCl eq. values r wrong for both the drugs.Apart from that everything is fine. Thanks.............

    Message for kingtu

hey king, i think u went wrong in calculating the coef. of elasticity % change in price ? it is 4.2 -3.99=o.21 tis value is how percent of the original price 4.20------>0.21 100--------->? X=o.21*100/4.20=5 2- % change in the Q change of Q=60-40=20 40----->20 100----->? =20*100/40 =50 E=% CHANGE IN Q/% CHANGE IN P =50/5=10 Thx
  11. Hey wang, Don't worry...........u knw wat?????? The NaCl Eq of phenacaine n chlorobutanol were given as 0.17 n 0.18 resp.(It's beeen mentioned wrongly in the CPR) The NaCl Eq values r standard for a given drug. Here for phenacaine n chlorobutanol the values r 0.20 n 0.24 resp. SO..................U DON'T HAVE TO BREAK UR HEAD.:)ok? I beleive the calculation now becomes easier for u.......... If not lemme knw.TC n bye
  12. hey king, i think u went wrong in calculating the coef. of elasticity % change in price ? it is 4.20 -3.99=o.21 tis value is how percent of the original price 4.20------>0.21 100--------->? 13. Hey jak, Eventhough i'm not sure .........i think this is PROBABLY the rite way to calculate . % change in the quantity is (60-40)/40*100=50 % change in the price w'ld be............. (4.20-3.99)/4.20*100=5 since.......... coef. of elasticity= % change in the quantity/% change in the price 50/5=10 Regarding the ke calculation ............ke is equal to 0.693*100 so t1/2 =o.693/0.693*100 Hmm.........what do u say?Anyways pl.....correct me if i'm wrong. Thx......
  14. hey, i think 1st n 3rd r the rite answers.but for 2nd i think the answer is ALL OF THE ABOVE 'COZ TETRACYCLINE FORMS COMPLEXES WITH ALL THE IONS MENTIONED.
  15. hi srilak, usually it takes 3.32,4.32 n 6.65 *t1/2 to reach 90%,95% n 99% of Css respectively. hope this helps.
