  1. thanks for the advice Just, well sometimes, when the expectations are not met, one tend to get disheartened, anyways, I am still thinking about the next step.. I am targetting 1 yr MBAs let me see what are my chances with this score. Unfortunately for an Indian applicant, this is a below average score. Hence the talk about retaking GMAT.
  2. Hi guys I gave GMAT an hour back and am really disappointed with the score especially verbal. I never scored so low on verbal. There were a few things that went wrong at my test cnter and it disturbed me a bit as I was already feeling a bit nervous. Anyways I am planning to write the test again as this is the lowest score I ever got onany PP,GMATPREP,PR or even Manhattan Gmat ( only the 1st online was 670).. ... I am not sure how does this score increases/decreases my chances for an admission, but it certainly didnt satisfy me. Will think about this for a day or two and will decide, what do experts say?
  3. congrats man..im going to write it today... lets see how it turns out..am having similar post GMAT feelings ....all the best for apps..this is a very competitive score.
  4. I think theres something missing in this question...may b answer choices could help..i remember doing this prblm correctly in some test.. the approach was: factorise 88000and you get 11*5^3 *2^5 *1 =>now 11 and 5 are for red and green chips and 5 2^5 contains the points for purple => Purple chip contains 8 points (2^3).. thus 2^2 purple chips were selected.but I have assumed that there werent more than one Green or red chips... so we can have other answers.. we can make use of answer choices in such a case.
  5. Hi friends, I am writing GMAT this friday. My confidence is on a roller coaster ride..with every bad test exprnc it goes abysmal and with every successful endeavour it reaches the pinnacle. My target is to score a 51 in Quant and I know this demands super-concentration on test day, still whats the harm in aiming high :)... well I wish all the Dec test takers best of luck... Will write GMATPREP a final time tomorrow... let me see where does it land me :) ...
  6. Manhattan CAT4 -Q51 V51 800 not a great one- max quant qstns were 600-700 level
  7. Hmm.. but isnt the quant a bit harder than the real thing?I thot verbal( except RC- RC in GMATPREP are tougher) is of same level but Quant ,especially some questions are way tougher than I had seen anywhere. GMATPREP2 is an exception to this.I got tougher questions on GMATPREP2 than Manhattan Online1 test. I dont understand the algo per se.. GMATPREP1 was too easy in comparision to GMATPREP2.
  8. Manhattan CAT1 - only quant 46 Manhattan CAT2 - Q48 V41 730 Manhattan CAT3 -Q50 V42 750 Manhattan online 1 -Q48V33 670
  9. Guys I gave GMATPREP2 yesterday, and you believe it or not, it was tougher than Manhattan prep online test1. Only slightly lower than CAT1. I am not sure whether it was my bad day or the questions were hard because I didnt commit a mistake in first 14-15, but I got atleast 7-8 very tough questions which needed both skill and time. Dunno if others have faced similar situation with GMATPREP. I had given GMATPREP 4-5 times earlier and everytime could easily score a 50, but this one made me commit 11 mistakes; eventhough I got a score of 49 but had to rush through in my last 8-9 questions; result 7 incorrect.

  11. How did you fare in the first one dude.. the quant was much tougher than the online test.. didnt you find so?
  12. GPZ did you try the first adaptive one.. I havent seen anything tougher till date, couldnt attempt last 5 problems
  13. guys check PR tests.. Test 3 and 4 have quant as tough as, if not tougher than Manhattan Gmat
  14. Q: Is repeat testing increasing? What types of gains can test takers expect? A: A recent study showed that approximately 21% of GMAT® exams are taken by individuals who take the test more than one time in a given year. Within the mean score range for the GMAT® Total score, 500 to 540, approximately 28% of tests are taken by repeat testers. Great care is taken to match test takers on multiple demographic variables so as to minimize the possibility of mismatching test administrations. this is from GMAC site http://www.gmac.com/gmac/TheGMAT/WhatIstheGMAT/GMATQuickFactsFAQs.htm Q36 in OG11 doesnt say that so as to is wrong; it just says that in the given context so as to doesnt clarify who will marry Anne Boleyn. The eg you gave is from spidey's notes; dunno how reliable is it. experts please advise.
  15. IMO B, this is not a rather than vs instead of sentence. apart from B all other choices are too clumsy. from bbc site: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/in_depth/uk_politics/2000/labour_centenary/651231.stm Few would now argue that New Labour is a socialist party in the sense most people understand that word - or even a democratic socialist party as Mr Blair would sometimes have it. Instead it has been transformed into the sort of social democratic party that the Gang of Four Labour MPs - Roy Jenkins, David Owen, Bill Rodgers and Shirley Williams - sought to create in 1981 when they walked out of the party in disgust at what they saw as its extremist policies.

Alpacas' fleece is worth surprisingly little compared to their market value; a top breeding specimen bringing upwards of $100,000 even if five pounds of fleece fetches only $80 to $240. http://www.manhattangmat.com/OnlineExams/Images/radAnswerOff.gif Alpacas' fleece is worth surprisingly little compared to their market value; a top breeding specimen bringing upwards of $100,000 even if five pounds of fleece fetches http://www.manhattangmat.com/OnlineExams/Images/radAnswerOff.gif Alpacas' fleece is worth surprisingly little in comparison with its market value; a top breeding specimen bringing upwards of $100,000 while five pounds of fleece fetches http://www.manhattangmat.com/OnlineExams/Images/radAnswerOff.gif The fleece of the alpaca is worth surprisingly little compared to its market value, while a top breeding specimen can bring upwards of $100,000 even though five pounds of fleece fetch http://www.manhattangmat.com/OnlineExams/Images/radAnswerOff.gif The fleece of the alpaca is worth surprisingly little compared to the animal's market value; a top breeding specimen can bring upwards of $100,000 while five pounds of fleece fetch The worth of the alpaca's fleece is surprisingly little compared to the animal's market value; a top breeding specimen can bring upwards of $100,000 even though five pounds of fleece fetches
  17. Hi GPZ i gave the first online one today: got a 670; Q48 ( 5 wrong - 3 silly mistakes); V 33 ( gosh- 15 wrong answers) Gave at 2 am midnight- my head is surely spinning now  As I said earlier Quant is closer may be a slightly more difficult; but Verbal is definitely killing anyways a good exercise for brain...
  18. congrats avi... nice score, though i expected a 51 in Quant from u. were the quantqstns too tough??...all the best for ur apps..
  19. a2z , this is what I thought, but the Sets have OA as C which is wrong. Does anyone doubt that E mustnt be the answer?
  20. Is the measure of one of the interior angles of quadrilateral ABCD equal to 60 degrees? 1) Two of the interior angles of ABCD are right angles 2) The degree measure of angle ABC is twice the degree measure of angle BCD. OA to follow..
  21. Ben is already selected and we have to avoid Kelly, so now we have to make a teamof 4 out of which one is already chosen. Now out of remaining 7, one(Kelly) mustnt be picked up,so we have to choose 3 out of remaining 6 hence 6C3.
  22. IMO B, The bold face says that theres no use in drinking the Superoxy water and this way it reinforces the conclusion that superoxy is useless similarly B says that the person exercising already has max possible oxygen and thus intake by any other means is useless.
  23. 2/ 7 is correct: total number of ways to select 4 ppl from a group of 8 is 8C4 total number of ways in which Ben is selected and kelly isnt is 6C3 Ben is already selected and Kelly is to be ignored so 3 members out of 6 are to be selected. probability = 6C3/8C4 => 2/7
