  1. Shuffled between A & D....finally picked A.
  2. Pick A. B: Maybe some or all data is affected, we aren't sure from the data given. Eliminate. C,D,E: Not enough data to support this/out of context
  3. C is not the OA. Want to give another try?
  4. This is a causal error. C it is.
  5. B is extreme; C,E are out of context; A doesn't have supportf rom argument. I'll pick D.
  6. A famous singer recently won a lawsuit against an advertising firm for using another singer in a commercial to evoke the famous singer’s well-known rendition of a certain song. As a result of the lawsuit, advertising firms will stop using imitators in commercials. Therefore, advertising costs will rise, since famous singers’ services cost more than those of their imitators. The conclusion above is based on which of the following assumptions? (A) Most people are unable to distinguish a famous singer’s rendition of a song from a good imitator’s rendition of the same song. (B) Commercials using famous singers are usually more effective than commercials using imitators of famous singers. © The original versions of some well-known songs are unavailable for use in commercials. (D) Advertising firms will continue to use imitators to mimic the physical mannerisms of famous singers. (E) The advertising industry will use well-known renditions of songs in commercials. Tricky one that I tripped on the first time. OA will follow....
  7. A,B,D do not clearly specify who needs to apply these skills. Is it students or someone else. Eliminate. Between C & E, E maintains parallelism (usage of "that" in correct place) Pick E.
  8. "it" clearly refers to globalization. E is parallel and correct.
  9. B: "while" is used for 2 events occuring simultaneously. Incorrect in this context. C: "Just like" is unidiomatic. D: "similarly to not forgiving" is plain wrong english. Between A & E, absolved (past tense) is parallel to forgave (as in A). Pick A.
  10. Rule 1: "Hopefully" is WRONG in GMAT english. Use "I hope" or "it is hoped". Eliminate A,C,D. E: "matter such as electromagnetic waves". This sounds like the author is giving electrmagnetic waves as an example for matter. This is incorrect. B is the answer.
  11. A: wrong modifier. "A practice" modifies "if a single strain". B: What does "it" refer to. Incorrect pronoun reference. C: Wrong modifier. "A single strain of plant" is not "A practice". D: Wrong modifier. What does "a practice" modify? E is the answer.
  12. Wavered between B & D. How can we cleanly eliminate D?
  13. Toughie!! I knew what the answer should be (that noone will begin) after reading the question. I just couldn't link it to C.
