  1. An elderly man is taken to the emergency room because of an acute myocardial infarction. He is in cardiogenic shock in which the cardiac output is very low and there is a reflex vasoconstriction. He has tachycardia. Which of the following drugs would be MOST appropriate to administer: dobutamine isoproterenol bethanecol propranolol phenylephrine as I understand B-blockers are standard therapy after MI to prevent life-threatening arrhythmias. dobutamine is B1 agonist it will worsen tachycardia. 17.Clofibrate causes an increased incidence of cholelithiasis 27 Histamine is a neurotransmitter there are histamine receptors, so I think histamine is a neurotransmitter in those receptors. correct me if I am wrong.
  2. 2.A toddler playing in the family medicine cabinet comes upon the propantheline once used by his father for the treatment of his ulcer. He eats a couple, then he throws the bottle aside. A short time later he tells his mother he is thirsty. She notices that he is flushed, has dry skin and a very dry mouth. After questioning him, she takes him to the emergency room. The greatest potential threat to the life of this child is: a. dehydration b. CNS actions (e.g. delirium and respiratory depression) c. cardiac arrhythmia d. bronchospasm e. hyperthermia I read somewhere that atropine-like drugs can cause life-threatening hyperthermia in children. Pharmacist771 by what mechanism atropine can cause respiratory depression? organophosphates increase acetilcholine concentration and cause deadly respiratory depression. I am just confused about it. please correct me if I am wrong.

  4. I think the same situation is in Italy. As I was told in Italy hired pharmacist gains 1200-1600 euros a month after taxes. It is quite a low salary. Pharmacy owners gain much more. When I asked pharmacy students whether they think to go to work to the US, they told me that it is too far away and their English is not good enough. They prefer to work in France, Switzerland, or England where they don’t have to give any exam. Current Situation : 1 Nationality : Ukrainian residing in Italy.

  8. Thank you for writing about your situations. It may be depressing for those preparing for the test, but I think it's important to see the real situation and evaluate if it's really worthwhile to persue this road. I spend 1 year preparing for the exam, but was denied visa. Now I can't decide whether to continue with FPGEE at all costs, or try to make a career in the country I live in. So for people in the similar situation your information is very usefull. I wasted 1 year for preparation and at the end I've got nothing, I don't want to waste many more years, money, and efforts and be without a job. Thank you once again.
  9. bigmoonstar thank you so much for your posts! they are very usefull.

flash cards from PHARMACYEXAM WEBSITE are VERY expensive and very of a poor quality. may be they are OK for NAPLEX, for review, when you know the pharmacology well. for me it was a waste of money.

  17. I graduated from Ukraine 9 years ago. I am planning to take the exam in June. I know 3 people who graduated from my university and passed fpgee. so it's doable. I don't remember studing pharmacokinetics in university, hopefully they won't ask it in such details as in cpr.
  18. dear bva thank you so much! very helpfull, as always. good luck in NAPLEX:)
  19. congratulations to all who've already received their scores. i hope all people in this forum will pass. so far scores have been exceptional, well done! I am so happy for you! dear bva congratulations, great score. I have a q about management. do you feel Manan's management book was helpfull? I tried to read it, but I feel like it is a waste of time: part of it is a common sense, part of it I don't understand and can't remember. I think management part in Manan theory book is usefull, but management book is not. what do you think, would you advise me to read it before an exam? thank you.
