  1. why not A??? If A then decision is no longer with the passenger....
  2. 14. Opponents of laws that require automobile drivers and passengers to wear seat belts argue that in a free society people have the right to take risks as long as the people do not harm others as a result of taking the risks. As a result, they conclude that it should be each person’s decision whether or not to wear a seat belt. Which of the following, if true, most seriously weakens the conclusion drawn above? (A) Many new cars are built with seat belts that automatically fasten when someone sits in the front seat. (B) Automobile insurance rates for all automobile owners are higher because of the need to pay for the increased injuries or deaths of people not wearing seat belts. © Passengers in airplanes are required to wear seat belts during takeoffs and landings. (D) The rate of automobile fatalities in states that do not have mandatory seat-belt laws is greater than the rate of fatalities in states that do have such laws.B (E) In automobile accidents, a greater number of passengers who do not wear seat belts are injured than are passengers who do wear seat belts.
  3. Which of the following best completes the passage below? At large amusement parks, live shows are used very deliberately to influence crowd movements. Lunchtime performances relieve the pressure on a park’s restaurants. Evening performances have a rather different purpose: to encourage visitors to stay for supper. Behind this surface divergence in immediate purpose there is the unified underlying goal of______ (A) keeping the lines at the various rides short by drawing off part of the crowd (B) enhancing revenue by attracting people who come only for the live shows and then leave the park © avoiding as far as possible traffic jams caused by visitors entering or leaving the park (D) encouraging as many people as possible to come to the park in order to eat at the restaurantsE (E) utilizing the restaurants at optimal levels for as much of the day as possible
  4. Let there be x papers of A and y papers of B sold According to the qn p/100(x+y)=x; r/100(x+1.25y)=x Combining the 2 eqns and eliminating y and x r=400p/500-p
  5. guys, stmt 1 > assume n=2k+1 i.e odd (not divisble by 2) (n-1)(n+1) =4k(k+1) when we divide this by 24 we get k(k+1)/6.k is an integer .So substitute k=0,1,2,etc.We get different remainders.Hence insuff. stmt 2> assume n=3,6,9,12,15 etcwe again get different remainders.. hence stmt 2 also insuff combining 1 and 2 we get the following possiblites, n=1,5,7,11,13,17 etc all these numbers give zero as remainder.hence the ans is ©

  9. agree with 8/3 Let n be the fraction.. since fraction are equal and totally 4 cups of milk 2n + 4n=4 n=2/3 No of cups of milk in larger bottle=4n=8/3 these q's are damn cute man..Let them keep coming in
  10. assume n=17x+5 also n=23y + 14 hence 23y+14 = 17x +5 17x-23y=9 hence B
  11. Hello mr.bug, seems to be a great qn...2x3y5z Is it a number??? If u proceed like assuming m=100x+10y+z ,n=100a+10b+c. Looks like it will not be that easily solvable.. May be i am wrong.. So I tried a diff approach. looks like f(x) is a 6 digit number.Multiplying it by 9 yields a 7 digit number even if x,y,z are zero...Then howss it possible to have f(m)=9f(n).. Doubtfull Help reqd MR.bug...

  13. Let x,y,z be the customers who purchased 1,2,3 books respectively. Stmt 1 x + 2y + 3z =200 x + y + z =100 We cannot find x,y,z from this eqn Hence insufficient Stmt 2 y=20 Cannot find with Stmt alone substituting y in the above 2 eqns we find it is a linear eqn with 2 unknowns.. solve it hence the ans is C
  14. hey guys, there is no mention of whether v,m,t belong to the set of complex or real nos..Imagine if v is equal to i .then v^2=-1.and hence the ans is E.I think so..not sure guys.any explanations from the OG or wherever u picked up this from..
  15. http://www.wsu.edu/~brians/errors/errors.html A good link for learning some basic tips in SC .Check it out please ...

  19. Lets consider the first time he takes a car he has 3 chances. Second time he chooses a car ,he has only 2 car becuase already 1 was used.Third time he has only 1 car. Thus we have 3/3 * 2/3 * 1/3. We multiply 3 events as all 3 happen simultaneously.Hence the prob is 2/9.
