  1. One ques at a time please.. For Question 2, my answer is C. Reasoning: i see parallel structure between "Many XXX, say that ___ and that ____"; only option C adheres to this. 2. Many environmentalists, and some economists, say that free trade encourages industry to relocate to countries with ineffective or poorly enforced antipollution laws, mostly in the developing world, and that, in order to maintain competitiveness, rich nations have joined this downward slide toward more lax attitudes about pollution. (A) that, in order to maintain competitiveness, rich nations have joined this downward slide toward more lax attitudes about pollution (B) that, for maintaining competitiveness, rich nations join in this downward slide toward more lax attitudes about pollution © that rich nations join this downward slide toward more lax attitudes about pollution because of wanting to maintain competitiveness (D) that in rich nations, joining this downward slide toward more lax attitudes about pollution is a result of wanting to maintain competition (E) that wanting to maintain competition is making rich nations join in this downward slide toward an attitude about pollution that is more lax
  2. Sorry for delay in posting OA.. but the question is really tricky.. OA is B..
  3. I think the 1st option is correct since - has.. mitigated than abolished.. both follow same tense and hence parallel But what is OA?
  4. Hi All.. i did not receive any reply.. perhaps because i had posted OA also along. :) I am reposting question.. since the OA reasoning is not clear.. Can we have some discussion on this question? Thanks..
  5. Hi .. The OA is indeed A.. but i am not convinced the explanation.. My doubt is if Who's = who is; then why is D wrong and A right.. Moreover who's is more common in speech but you will not find such usage in editorials / journals.. Any suggestions/advice in this regard..
  6. Well i am about to share the OA.. The answer clearly asks.. which of the following must be true.... If Roberts does not have any connection with Entertainment industry, then definately he would not have financed any movie.. Hence the OA is E..
  7. D. Its not that carepentry was better in hotels buit before 1930.. its just that only better once are surviving.. Thus comparision is not fair.. i.e. between Best carepentry (Pre 1930) Vs average carpentry (post 1930)
  8. Please provide ur ID so that you can be contacted directly.. else this thread will be filled with IDs :)
  9. i found this question more of maths problem than CR. :) Answer A is best choice.. though you can argue B could also have been a choice.
  10. I need to know who’s to blame for all the mistakes I found. (A) I need to know who’s to blame for all the mistakes I found. (B) I need to know whose to blame for all the mistakes I found. © I need to know who to blame for all the mistakes I found. (D) I need to know who is to blame for the mistakes I found. (E) I need to know whose’s to blame for all the mistakes I found. I am confused between A & D... will post OA later.
  11. Q.To be accepted as a member at the Brown Country Club, one must have a net worth of over ten million dollars and must not have any connections to the entertainment industry. Robert Chase, the publishing magnate, has a net worth of 5 billion dollars and has been accepted as a member at the Brown Country Club. Given the statements above, which one of the following conclusions must be true? (A) Chase’s membership was preapproved. (B) Chase does not know anyone who has connections to the entertainment industry. © Chase’s ex-business partner is a major concert promoter, has a net worth of 100 million dollars, and is a member of the Brown Country Club. (D) Chase’s brother, who has also petitioned for membership at Brown, has a net worth of 10 billion dollars and considers it beneath his dignity to associate with anyone in the entertainment industry. Hence, his petition will be accepted. (E) Chase has not financed any Hollywood movies. My first take on the question above was B. However OA is different..
  12. Geologists in California have discovered a fault near the famous San Andreas Fault, one that they believe to be a trigger for major quakes on the San Andreas. (A) one that they believe to be a trigger for (B) one they believe to be a trigger for © one that they believe triggers (D) that they believe to be a trigger for (E) one they believe acts as a trigger for My answer to above question was E; However OA is different. I will appreciate discussion on reasoning for OA..
  13. My pick is A, explanation already provided by agarbattis.
  14. B for me as well. I was not clear with options, but thereafter started eliminating options and reached answer B.
  15. My pick would be :C All others options strengthen the plan or are out of context here. A: Out of context. B. Out of context (OOC) D. htere is no mention of new colors etc.. so OOC E: Strengthen..
  16. My first choice was C, but later realized that "despite 30% spending increase if the students are increased, then per student expenditure will definitely decrease"; Also per student expenditure is not indicator of decrease in spending in education. Hence "A" on other hand gives a fact; hence weaken the argument.
  17. My Answer would be : Choice A The plan works only if the company is able to attract customers through price advantage. hence the most important information would be whether the rivals are also planning deep price cut. Note: Objective is to increase the market share; whether they are in profit with this decision is neither mentioned nor assumed, since the focus is long term loyality.
  18. IMO C is the correct answer.. i.e. the first is an evidence in the author’s argument while the second is a prediction that follows from this evidence leutrozole is contained in abundance in the fat of blue dolphins: Is an evidence.. ..pecial equipment will allow scientists to extract dolphin’s fat without killing.. : is a prediction ? Hence justifies C.. Comments ?
  19. based on my analysis.. the answer should be B. A,C, E: cannot be answer, since they are specic to high immune system.. or on non relevant topic.. B -> Perhaps researcher is assuming both Mental illness & physical disease to be similar.. D-> I donot know.. how this can be OA ?
  20. Clearly E.. Checkout "them" usage in other options
