  1. yes chartu plugging is another good shortcut strategy!! and it is helpful to start from E choice!! thanks for the tips!
  2. Hi, can anyone provide an easy approach/shortcut to solve this function problem: For which of the following functions f is f(x)=f(1-x) for all x? (1) f(x)=1-x (2) f(x)=1-x^2 (3) f(x)=x^2-(1-x)^2 (4) f(x)=x^2(1-x)^2 (5) f(x)=x/1-x. thanks!! I learned today a good shortcut and I wanted to share it with u: STEM says f(x) = f(1-x). put x=0. => f(0)=f(1). check for values of f(0) and f(1) for all answer choices. They shud be equal. Clearly 4 wins and one can arrive at this in very less time.
  3. that's an excellent score!! Congratulations Kamsbond and best of luck in ur application!!
  4. it is A and let me correct the typo: Is point C has the same distance from point A(-3,-3) and point B(1,-3)? 1). C lies on the line x=-1 2). C lies on the line y=-3
  5. yes D, both indicate that x is less than 1 (fraction)
  6. I would say that neither kaplan nor princeton review is a good preparation book for a super GMAT score, they r just warming u up for the test. I studied from both books before, and never passed 600 on the actual test!! I recommend u buy Manhattan Sentence Correction from amazon, and work from this excellent book along with the OG. Work on improving ur math skills from this forum and from score top forum as well. They r both a great source for math practice. I wish u best of luck in ur next exam!
  7. OA is A. I guess we need a connector (however), besides the use of "that". only A satisfies this conditions!
  8. congratulations!! must GMAT problems file is awesome , thanks!
  9. I doubt that there is approach for this question, just draw it and consider first all the possibilites of the existance of x and y on the number line, they could be both - or both + or either one of them + and the other is -, and then test z in each case separetly in light of the two DS options!! there are many of the OG questions I found that pushe me to use my imagination!!:D
  10. I think there is missing/wrong information here. How come the combined travel time of the two trains is 2 hours, and train A travel already 1 hour and supposed to travel at least another hour (the speed is constant), and that train should have to travel the rest of the distance that train B traveled in 10 minutes and equivalent to 1 hour for train A. So, the total minimum time should be at least 2 1/3 hours (2 hours for A and 20 minutes for B)!! Does any one agree with me!!
