    question

    yes, the answer is coming out to be 62.5% precisely. though, it took me a hell lot of time to calculate it. I did it like this..... all series starting with even nos r divsible by 8. But there are some odd nos also which when start results in divisibility by 8. So, 48 even nos r there b/w 1 and 96 and 12 odd nos. i.e (48+12)/96. Let me know if there r any shorter methods available. Indeed a gud question...[clap] Regards.
  6. The answer should be A. Suppose if u take n = -1, then first will be 5 Regards.

Bscout: I planning to do a MS or preferably a Phd (if the score allows) in networking. I haven't shortlisted the univs yet. will be doing it as i have received the score now. Thanks a ton, again.
  9. Wrote my GRE today. Got a total of 1260. I need advice from you guys as the score is not satisfactory. Should i retake GRE or some colleges accept a verbal score of 460. If yes , then which one's and what are their ratings. Profile:- Computer Engineer(B.E) from University of Pune with 61.2% marks. Microsoft Certified Sytems Engineer (MCSE - Windows 2000) Will be giving subject GRE in November. GRE Experience :- Quantitative section was not difficult but time consuming. Only 12 minutes were remaining when i completed 19th question. Have to work through really fast then for the rest of the questions. This also resulted in my downfall in the verbal section, as i thought i didn't perform well in the quantitative section. I also want to thank the testmagic community for maintaining such a wonderful forum. It is one of the best forums for GRE. Thanks and Regards
  10. Mishu007 The questios says "each person should recieve atleast $1" and column B is asking about the total number of ways of doing this, that will be 7C3. If u give only $1 to each what will happen of remaining money. Hope this helps. Regards
  11. For column B---- seven bills can be distributed in 7C3 ways = 35 For column A -------- At leastone should get $3 means--- three cases--- one get $3 or $4 or $5 ways---- 3C1*4C2 + 4C1*3C2 + 5C1*2C2 ===> 35 case 1: one getting $3. Now remaining four dollars can be distributed to two persons similarly for other cases also. Answer is C.
  12. Awesome score man [clap] Best of luck to you in all your future endeavors. :tup:

    Traingle ACD is an isosceles triangle. By using trigonometry AC and CD comes out to be 10. As CD/AD = sin 45 , so CD = 10 * sqrt(2) / sqrt(2) = 10. Now angle CBD = 60. So, CD/BC = tan 60 ==> BC = 10/sqrt(3) AB = AC - BC = 10 - (10/sqrt(3)) = (10*sqrt(3) - 10) / sqrt(3) Regards
  15. Yes, Veroniquaz is right. For eleventh question answer should be D.
  16. a) Mean will be = (20*85 + 30*75) / (20 + 30) = 79 b) Median will be (25th + 26th) / 2. I think we cannot calculate the median as 25th and 26th values can be anything. By knowing just the median of 20 values and 30 values won't help. Let me know if some method is there for finding this. Regards
  17. Total number of ways of selecting 2 marbles = 4C2 i.e. 6 for selecting two marbles of same color i.e white is 2C2 or 1 and similarly for red is also 1. So, P( selecting marbles of same color) = 1/6 + 1/6 = 1/3 Now, P( of same color) + P(of different color) = 1 so, P(of different color) = 1-1/3 = 2/3 So, B>A
