  1. Yep, I just wrote to Siria Martinez yesterday. She's responsible for the CS PhD program. I am rejected.... I will soon receive it by mail, so I guess they e-mail only the positive answers. Anyway, I already have 4 universities to choose from and did my choice yesterday. (oh, and still waiting for UPenn and GATech!)
  2. Hi, I have applied there too - for CS PhD. However I have no response either :( I know of a guy from Croatia who was in the beginning of March.... but no one else. I asked them about decision dates and they said "we are mailing out decisions all throughout March and April". We'll have to wait :(
  3. yes, plenty of people got rejected there these days (PhD most of them). me too :) There was a guy on thegradcafe.com who said he was admitted by Stanford and Berkeley, but rejected from UWash... they say they have too many applicants this year, who knows... ;)
  4. Hey, how is this possible ?!? You have to confirm/deny admissions by April 15...
  5. When is the visit date ? Do they pay you the visit ? (I have applied there, but haven't heard anything yet...)
  6. hey, there are some more similarities in our applications - I am for CS (though PhD). My GRE is V 460, Q 800, AWA 4.5 TOEFL 108. Did you cut down your list already ?
  7. Hi, sorry I can't help very much, I don't know most of those universities. But the main concern is probably the professors and the specific programs you want to study. There are very many fields in CS and a strong CS school is not always the strongest in your area. Another point is the place you'll be living. There is a Los Angeles and there is Ohio... it matters much more for PhD though. The Masters program is only 2 years, not 6. :) BTW I am applying to USC and GATech and 11 more :) (I also considered Ohio State, but removed them from the list since they wanted all documents sent by postal mail (instead of online) and that would cause difficulties to my recommenders, and OSU was not a top choice for me neither). good luck. Oh, you should see closely what are the funding chances for MS. For PhD you people are awarded some assistantship almost always... but for MS it is not that easy - try to investigate this.
  8. you can try looking for it at demonoid.com. I downloaded it from there.
  9. Hi, --------- sorry for spamming, I posted this to Financial Aid forum, but I need answers relatively soon, so I am posting here too. --------- Some universities I am applying to (for PhD) require all intl applicants to send financial statement. Some want this only after admission. They say it is needed by US government for issuing F1 visa and so on... I am applying for financial aid (assistantship) and if I don't get one, I won't accept admission. So in this case does it make any sense the financial statement and the sum I enter there ? Could it be $0.00 ? I can enter something like $2000-5000, but it is not going to change the fact that I need financial aid... and I will have to acquire some bank statement for these $2000 which is another pain. Do I really need this ? thanks!
