  1. Thanks a lot for your prompt reply, kindly please send me the file to ajai.teralab@gmail.com Thanks.
  2. Congrats dude......well done ! Could you please post us the URL that has all the sets discussion.
  3. Awesome score dude ! Bob800 might provide the insight...........
  4. 1) is definitely E and (2) is incomplete
  5. I am not aware of the perfect procedure but I would pick my answer as (5). I assume 'm' is the total value of the expression. Here is my reasoning : The first term 4^(1/2) = 2 and the last term 4^(1/4) = sqrt(2)= 1.414 then the middle term 4^(1/3) definitely must be something less that the first term. So I will put this as around 1.5 => 2+1.4+1.5 => something around 5 but definitely greater that 4. Could you please post the OA?
  6. IMO :B "residents of" not "residents from". A and C are out. Jobs not job ( He cant offer single job to all the residents), hence D and E are out. I also vaguely remembers the idiom as "so moved......as to"
  7. A tricky question, one might guess that answer is B thinking that set is of infinite multiples of 4 and hence superset is also an infinite set with multiples of 3. So the answer will be NO, it is not a superset. But we should remember that multiples of 4 might be of only even numbers with no odd things (i.e) { 4,8,.......} Good going Jay.
  8. Wow ! Amazing score buddy ! Congrats ! Waiting for ur debrief !!
  9. Quite overloaded with work since 3 days......not even getting a chance to take a look at this forum. will give a test and decide in this long weekend. How abt u ?
  10. I remember it as a(1-r^n)/1-r. U miscalculated it Jay. 2 + 2(1 -2^(8+1)/1-2 ==> 2+2-2.2^9 = 2^10
  11. AK, Yup you are right we can do that. You have a great insight buddy. [clap] But we are not bothered abt the other side, we need the height. I did it as follow : Angle BCE = 135 Extend the line BC towards the other side of B and draw a straight line from E to touch the extended line,let this be point "X" now this(EX) will the height of BCE. We know EC=1, Angle ECX = 45 (180-135) so EX = > sin45=EX/1(opp side/hypotenuse) => EX =1/root2 Hence the area = 1/2*1*1/root2.
  12. Hi AK, I am confused with this problem, could you please post the solution how you are able to solve this using trig ? Thanks dude.
  13. Its simple : 1/5^m = 5^-m 1/4^18= 1/((2)^2)^18=2^-36 1/2(10)^35=1/2(2*5)^35=>1/2*2^35*2^35=>2^-1*2^-35*5^-35=>2^-36*5^-35 => 2^-36*5^-m = 2^-36*5^-35 Hence m=35 HTH
  14. Total outcomes = 5! = 120. P(no couple sit together)=1-P( atleast one couple sits together) P(atleast one couple sits together)= consider for first couple sitting together : Bind them in to single entity. so now we have only 4 persons (husband and wife are one) and 4 chairs (one chair less as as we are considering husband and wife as 1). 4 people can be selected in to 4 chairs as 4! and husband and wife can be bundled in as 2! ways Hence = 4!*2! = 48 Same as the case for second couple Hence = 4!*2! = 48 So total = 48+48. But we have counted the couples sitting together once in first couple and also in the second couple calculation. Hence remove it one time. For that we need to calculate both couples sitting together count. Now bundle a couple in to a single entity and another couple in to a single entity . Now we have 3 people with 3 chairs. Hence 3! ways and the couples can be rearranged them selves in 2! ways. For both couples it is 2!*2! = > 2!*2!*3!= 24 So now our possible outcomes are 48+48-24 = 72 => 1-72/120 = 2/5 HTH
