  1. Young Econ, Was the test more difficult than PowerPrep?

    why GRE?

It's a fun test to take and stretches your brain muscles. Nothing is more enjoyable on a Saturday morning then cracking your knuckles and taking a good practice test. Taking the test itself is a euphoric experience in itself -- grinding through the numbers and vocab under the gun of the clock is more exhilirating than sex.
  3. What'd they ask about parabolas? Do you remember? Any important concepts we should know, like percent increase/decrease, etc.? How much did you have to use your scratch paper (by that I mean, was there lots of lengthy algebra)?
  4. Dinara, is that your picture? You're very attractive, if you don't mind my saying. If you're doing grad school in the states... Carry on. lol
  5. I think there are gremlins in your computer.
  6. Did you get the girls' numbers.
  7. Did anyone survive the collision??
  8. Dude, sorry the administrator threatened you. That could have gotten ugly -- fist-fight ugly.
  9. Seeps, what kind of statistic/probability concepts were you tested on at that high level? In other words, which do we need to have down pat?
  10. Is that a Poweprep question?
  11. IMO grades and GRE scores go hand and hand, to "thin the field" to applicants who will get a closer look by the admissions committee.
  12. What do you mean by "tough questions"? What kind of concepts were these first several questions asking you to carry out?
  13. Thanks Serenity, I guess that's why they call them "Smarties", huh? One quick question before you're out of here and finish applications: what math concept do you think the ETS gave you the hardest time with?
  14. I'm trying! So no funny math concepts? What was the most difficult quant concept you think they tested, scrawl? Anything we should know down pat? Good luck with your applications! :grad:
  15. Median = 4. Mode = 2, 4, and 6.
  16. Serenity, good luck, may you have serenity and not choke tomorrow. How are you preparing on this eve of the test.
  17. Very good Ancalagon. GRE + LOR + SOP + Application forms = headache!

Cook, you're going to get a 700+ in verbal. Don't be scared. I believe in you. Think of the word lists as grains of sand on a small beach. Every day, you are incorporating more of that granular world into your own. Though the volume seems mighty now, by test day you should have a bank sufficient enough to succeed, if you persevere.

Cook, what areas are you struggling with.
  20. Kickboxer, if you're still around, can you recommend any good ways to improve mental RAM? I perused the "cow game", just looking for more ways to hold information in my head. Is doing mental multiplication a good method (e.g., 369 X 3)? Thanks buddy.
  21. First one I just drew a line segment and assigned values. Eg. the whole segment was 12, and the equation was 6/9 = 2/3. Second one stumped me.
